Basically this is a friends Bora... turns, but won't start or even catch I think it's a PD130 - any pics of where the Pump is? I cleared these faults, then turned over & got these faults

those valves , n240 241 242 243 , are the PD units units mark , starting left to right as u look into the engine bay , that sounds like an expensive fix , could be worth to check the engine multiplug isnt loose , its located on the right hand side of the engine , near the fuel temp sensor ,

EDIT the tandem pump is located on the right hand side also , on the end of the camshaft

Yup - that was it

Now it runs **** & 'sounds like heavy rain' when on boost
and smokes a lot

that sounds to me like rain = bearings, smoke = not much air

when I fuct a bearing on mine is was 'pinging' even at idle,,,

test the turbo 'area' with vagcom and see what it says for the smoke matter,,, could be also bad injection tho,,,

To get faults on several different injectors sounds like a wiring issue to me ?

IIRC the wiring to the injectors runs inside the head, bathed in oil....nice.

1st clean the contacts on wiring harness (left hand side of motor). If that doesn't work then swap the internal harness (runs under cam cover and is easily accessible). Not hard to do and also not expensive (around 70 euros).
The cable comes with all conections/connectors so pretty easy to do.
