You cannot be serious, cossie saphs werent cool when i was 23 and theyre still NOT.

Go drive one and then say that again. IMO they're the best cars Ford has EVER made. No silly bad boy soilers like the 3door or the escort cossie. Build quality was reasonable as they were near enough hand built. Rock solid engine with massive tuning potential.

And handle like nothing I've driven since...

Lacking in comforts by todays standards but still a bloody fast car.

Then again I suppose you're right... They never were "cool", but real drivers cars aren't a lot of the time.

thanks guys u can tell real car people when they apprecaite them all, the cageis now out as it was not my kinda thing and the leather is all shiney and conditioned up lol, it is pushing 348BHP and im loving it i could have kept th cupra r as dailly drive but as i only do 70miles a week maximum driving there aint no point in having two cars as id always wish i was in the cossie,

icecavern: u sumed up that one well there mate spot on, the escosrt cosworth is my next car im only 23 and the insurance was a little to high on that car,

i do miss the cupra r's great comfort but im loving th saph i have always been a ford man so it was always coming although germans rule the comfort and spec for money cars all day long

CASSMAN: ill just ignore that comment you obviuosly dont really know what a cosworth is all about

i remeber when the Sapphire cosworth first came out... my dad got a free video with a can of duckhams oil.. giving you a chance to win one...

it was just a video of this purple shaphire cosworth going round brands hatch i think..

i was probably about 10 or 11 and was like.. daddy i want one.

Great looking car Jamie.. saw your car for sale the other day.. thought i recognised it.

Good luck with it, nice looking example.

nice car! i prefer the escort rs cosworth myself, i would luv one of them 1 day!!! :D good luck matey ;) by the way, what bhp is it pushing?

Same here, would love to have an escort cossie but no doubt some low life would pinch the bloody thing :(

Always had a soft spot for the performance Fords such as the RS1600i, RS Turbo mk1, cossies etc.

Might pick up a minta MK1 one day and keep it as a show car......we can all dream I suppose :cloud9:

I only have one gripe about the sierras. (cosworths et al) The tiny ammount of leg room ford didnt give you. Ruins the driving experience for me..

But by god they still look good, even now.

Best of luck with it mate.

cheers mate the only sierra cosworth u can forgive for the limited leg room is the 4x4 saph due to the running gear but yes the others do have limited space for a big car

.....and the best colour as well - Flint Grey - looks a good one. Had a mint 2wd for around 3 years and it only had subtle mods, but it was a great car. After having a LCR for nearly the same amount of time, I think going back to a Cossie would be a bit too much. Over 20 year old design (albeit one of Ford's best), even low mileage ones will have shells and chassis that are starting to tire and old school safety features - virtually none!!! Still have one as a second car though;)
Wonder where my old one is - RJI 36**?

nice one--ive just lost my lcr 3 weeks ago(company car) and im now sharing a fiat seicento with my brother--missing it badly.
Love the rs's dont see too many around now and tidy ones stand out--carefull in the wet though eh??

ps-went out in a small turbo escort cosworth when they very first came out but was never really impressed with its power although roadholding was very good!!

thanks ill becareful of the wet and the escos small turbo t28 is a good drivable road car but for awesome power u need the big t34 but with a stg one small turbo escos it will still be rapid but less laggy but u wont get that awesome punch as u do with the big turbo!
