Are DIY smoketest's feasible ?, I have no one near me who can do this and AMD (nearest specialist) wont , my "supercharger whine" is starting to bug me now.
What's the best way to do this? I've just got some smoke pellets from screw fix wondered best way to go about it? Start the pellet and drop in the airbox and put lid on or a better way?
We all know boost leaks plague our cars and the best diagnosis is a smoketest. However garages don't regularly list on their websites if they offer this. I thought it would be good to generate a register of garages in the UK which offer this and how much they charged.
So if you've had one done...

Thanks

I am now going to try a smoke and pressure test on the turbo system.
I spoke to R Tech...
Had some diagnostic work done on my LCR, which included a smoketest to check for boost leaks etc, to find a cause for poor MPG.
Smoketest revealed: "Air leak from the inlet camshaft adjustment solenoid."
The mechanic who did the diagnostic geekery is not an LCR/1.8T expert, so he's...
