  1. 1.5 TSI engine issues?

Ok, it’s almost 3 years since I defected to a German brand but I still look in occasionally! My Father-in-law has ordered online a Leon FR 1.5 TSI EVO 130 Manual. It’s a 2020 model with only 3100 miles. It arrives next week, and understandable he’s looking forward to it. The dealer has...
  2. Anyone on here owns my old Leon?

Coming up to 3 years since I VT’d my Leon ST. WR15TXS. On the off chance the current owner reads this then please PM me. I have some things that you may (or may not) want... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It does sound good, windows down at every opportunity! Lol [emoji38] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Write Off Criteria

I haven’t had time to read the whole thread but just thought I’d add a recent experience... A work colleague had a shunt in the rear in his Fiesta ST (17 plate 20k miles), which nudged him into the back of another car. The damage looked pretty much cosmetic but it was written off. Sent from...
  7. Bye bye Leon :(

I seriously thought about the Cupra 4 drive. Really is the best of both worlds. I bet you’ll love it! What put me off was a) asked my dealer about getting a test drive in one and he laughed at me and said no chance. That put me right off. b) 6 cylinder RWD cars will soon be a thing of the past...
  8. Bye bye Leon :(

I know what you mean about the arch gap, but some of the roads I use are so bad I think I’d regret lowering it. My back end is also firmly planted! I think you need to go into real hooligan mode to get it to wiggle [emoji51] Maybe we shouldn’t be talking BM’s on the SEAT forum... [emoji33]...
  9. Bye bye Leon :(

Probably the under body brace, and really trying not to go down the JB4 route, but it’s so hard not to keep thinking about it! I’ve got the adaptive suspension so I’ll leave that alone for a while. Maybe some less grippy tyres! The MPSS’s just stick like the proverbial in this hot weather...
  10. Bye bye Leon :(

I did notice you on the BM forum! Just great cars aren’t they. So useable everyday, but with a dark side when you want it! Any mods planned? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Bye bye Leon :(

Posting this somewhat after the event, about 4 weeks actually, but the Leon has gone. It’s been a great car. Fun, practical, economical, reliable, comfortable, and quite quick for a diesel (Bluefin remap). To move it on was a decision made mainly from the heart, with my head screaming “don’t do...
  12. 2015 DSG gearbox - how is it/should it be avoided?

72k miles and my DSG has been perfect. I had the oil changed before 40k and about to get it done again. 2.0 TDI 184 2015 Leon ST FR 184 DSG
  13. MK3 Leon ST Cupra Improving The Ride

Glad that you are happy with what you have done. It’s always a bit of a gamble with things like that, until you have spent the cash you just don’t know! This has been really interesting as a 300 ST is on my list for my next car, but I don’t like the 19” wheels. They look good on the 5 door and...
  14. Shift protocol

If what you say is true then the people with manual gearboxes must have the drive modes just for show as what else is there to change? The difference in throttle maps is not huge so you probably won’t notice it testing as you suggest. Also, I expect the ecu may respond to the rate of change of...
  15. Dashboard lights

As others have said it’s a quirk of the brand. Some folk like it but I found it annoying, especially as the has DRL’s. I did a vcds mod to have the tail lights on all the time and this seemed to sort it. 2015 Leon ST FR 184 DSG
  16. Boot illumination

The single (LED) boot light in my ST is rubbish. My old 3 series estate (sorry, ‘tourer’) had them in the tailgate and they illuminated the whole luggage area plus the bit of ground at the back of the car and also had red bits to be visible to other traffic. It’s amazing how you take things...
  17. Dtuk box on a 2.0tdi 184 good idea or not?

Just to add to the mix... Check out TDI Tuning as well. Basically the same type of device but I tried both and the TDI Tuning box worked better on my car. Either way, these things do work very well. I ended up with a Bluefin remap in the end, so there’s another option if you out of warranty...
  18. Shift protocol

I’m not sure this is the case. Basically the DSG ‘box has 3 modes, S, D and E. Put the car in ‘sport’ mode and pull back on the gear stick to put it back in D and the shift points will be the same as if the car was in ‘normal’ mode. Only the throttle response is changed which may be what you...
  19. New Virtual cockpit

Interesting picture. Gear shift paddles on the steering wheel and a manual 'box. Now THAT'S clever! 2015 Leon ST FR 184 DSG
  20. Installing Aftermarket Rear Camera as part of Dashcam

Sorry I can't answer any of your questions but welcome! I'm sure someone will give you the info you are after, we're a friendly bunch on here! 2015 Leon ST FR 184 DSG
