Yeah I left the battery on.
I had always hoped the mib2 units would become more affordable, basically any mod I do has to be worth it. So the only function I would make use of was apple play but since I can just put my phone in a holder it wasn’t worth the 300+ to upgrade. £150 tho? Right up my...
I didn’t think the box would be restricted by the android version in fairness, me being Apple it wasn’t something I was concerned about (I have heard that android is far better than Apple for the the CarPlay features).
Ah I didn’t make that clear!
This forum helped me a lot when I first got the Leon and I thought I’d film it since there were always guys on here (like me) looking for this without wanting to go through the hassle/money of upgrading the head unit. I was high on cocodemols so it isn’t the best...
It’s staying in there for now.
installation was easy all you need to do is get the old head unit out and it’s just plug and play.
it’s staying where it is just now, I might have another go at finding somewhere I can stow it away. I had tried stuffing it in around the back of where the existing...
For me my car only just his 40k miles, has full heated leather and is obviously an absolute blast to drive. The only thing I’d gain now from a newer version would be a larger screen now I have CarPlay and maybe more boot space if i went for the estate. But then I’d be forking out up to 35k for...
I don’t know what’s involved with the standard maps it seems a bit more in-depth than something like this. My issue with the integrated maps is just that things change so quickly and if it’s a hassle to update each year there’s a road change or whatever it’s a hassle I don’t want - for that...
As the title suggests there is (and has been for a couple of years I guess) a piece of kit that upgrades your MIB1/2 head unit to Android auto/Apple CarPlay. It’s about £150 off AliExpress and is worth every penny.
I had watched a guys video doing a similar one on a golf R which is about €350...
I only have a MIB1 unit so not in the same boat but don’t you just need OBDeleven to enable full link? I’m sure there’s an option on mine for it (even though like I say it’s not useful for my unit).
I think a replacement usb is pretty simple and cheap too, or (the reason I’m here) is to install...
I got these refurbed under warranty when I got the car 4.5 years ago, they didn’t even last the first winter. Totally agree it’s a sham, have never kerbed or scraped these in all that time (not even my other half) and they look terrible.
But still, not bad for pushing 9. [emoji7]

Got a new set from carmats Uk, their premium ones which come with all the clips and are premium as hell. Reinforced at the heel too so I shouldn’t butcher these [emoji1787]

Already on it and it’s already made the carpet underneath really firm. [emoji24] will find a way to bring it back to life though.

Had mine for a couple of years, it’s hard to say if there’s any power increase but I’d say if there is it’s very minimal. From the research I did at the time there was no performance improvement due to the bends in the exhaust being the restrictive part.
There is more noise on the motorway...
I clipped it on some grass a while back and the edge broke off as in the photos. Was going to repair but it would cost me about £40 and time which I just can’t be bothered with. Was going to Chuck it but someone with some fibreglass could fix it pretty easily.
if no one wants it I’ll throw it...
Hi mate, at the time of posting I thought the estate would be ideal for us but the space in the back (width for car seat etc) is the most important thing.
I will look out for your ad and dream though as I love the cupra estate, I think for now I’ll be keeping the cupra unless it becomes...
Yeah unfortunately the SQ5 is really what I’d like but the dimensions inside are like the a4 and the a4 inside is the same as the cupra. Which is just a pointless exchange for us, more boot space is all we’d gain.
It seems although well just be keeping the current cars to try it all out, my 7...
