    Eagle F1 Asymmetric

70k on the clock now and for 40,000 of these miles I've had F1 Assymetrics all round on the car. Great tyre, grip well and easily put down the 300 torques of my engine. Got mine from local dealer at £125 a pop - easily bettered Kwik-Fit and other so called tyre 'specialists'. Personally, I...

Long time, no post! A few questions...

Certainly have - got the first set when they were fresh off the shelf - even the dealer struggled to get them in initially. I do 30k miles a year - front tyres with the big diesel lump and 300 torques last 15k if I'm lucky!

Who's got the highest mileage Leon Mk2?

July 06 - just hit 68000 miles. Not one single problem to date.

Never bought them in the end - decided to go for the Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymterics instead after reading they were the best tyre out there in Evo last year. Have had a few sets since as they are a great tyre and I do 25K a year!

Long time, no post! A few questions...

Hey up folks Car went in today. Cambelt and water pump changed. Unbelievably, the brakes are apparently good for another 20k miles at least. Doubt whether a dealer would be as honest somehow. Very comprehensive service, all filters changed and functioning parts checked. They found...

Long time, no post! A few questions...

Evening all - it's been a long while since I've posted but my 06 Leon 2.0TDI is going in tomorrow for a comprehensive (and well overdue) service. Currently sitting at 66k miles, the last service was at 53K. No longer under warranty so can use specialist not dealer - taking it to Heriothill...

It just gets better with age!

I got a resonated system. Milltek don't really do LOUD systems. Not my cup of tea that anyway. To be honest the main reasons I got the system was because the standard steel twin exhaust the non FR/Cupra models get as standard looks utterly pish. Plus the Milltek is all stainless steel so will...

It just gets better with age!

When I renewed my membership with RAC, I told them what I'd had done and they said it wouldn't effect the premium - ended up paying an extra £5 for the year. Not a problem. Seriously, even the local dealer knows about it and has never raised it as an issue after four 10k services. There's a...

It just gets better with age!

Not posted for a wee while, but I'm so chuffed with the Leon. TDI 140 Reference Sport Bought July 06 Remap at 8k (198BHP, 302 torques) Milltek at 10k (204 BHP, 306 torques) Now done 52k fun filled miles using good diesel and not one fecking problem, not one. Not a squeak, rumble or rattle...

rust behind alloys on the wheel drum

I took my wheels off last summer and painted them with Hammerite matt silver paint. The first signs of corrosion are already now appearing. Looks like it will be a yearly job. Saw a Boxster the other week with a similar problem.

Talk me out of it Mk 1 to Mk 2

Well I've got a Ref Sport, spent £500 on a remap and got myself 200BHP so I would't worry too much about lack of power. It's whether you like the bodykit or prefer the more subtle FR. I was never a big fan of the bodykit so would go with an FR or wait another year, save up and get a second hand...

About to buy a 2.0TDi - anything to look out for?

Nothing really major to worry about really. I've done 36k miles and have a daily motorway commute of 80 miles - not a single thing gone wrong with the engine, brakes, suspension or internals. Pretty much bomb proof. Performance just get's get better and better as the VAG TDi's like a...

    Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetricals

If anyone needs new tyres soon, make sure you get these! Just changed the front two from the Pirelli P Zero Nero's and what a difference! Not only do they look utterly fantastic but they've transformed the feel, traction and noise plus I swear the car is quicker! Local dealer charged £119...

    Philips Blue Vision Bulbs

I've bought these too - must say the range is impressive and although you don't get the blueish tint they still look like xenon's. My missus was driving the Leon behind me the other night whilst I was driving a work car and I was quite amazed at the 'whiteness' of the bulbs. Look a lot, lot...

    Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tyres

Anyone got these fitted? Just read the Evo tyre test and got excellent review - cheaper than most and look lovely too. Goodyear's new F1 Asymmetric seems to be taking top honours everywhere though. Currently got Pirelli P Zero Nero's and although they are grippy enough they seem to be...

30,000 Miles - Not One Fault!

Evening all - not posted in a while but felt the need to 'brag' a little! Just reached 30k miles in just over a year and I'm well and truly satisfied with the Leon. With the exception of two new P Zero Rosso's on the front (soon to be joined by two at the back!) absolutely nothing has gone...
