Appreciate you taking the time for this response, I have a 20 mile each way commute and it’s mostly 60/70 so I do a fair bit of acceleration etc but even when driving carefully on a solid stretch of 60 I struggle to get higher than 30.
I used Tesco’s 99 fuel and always have done!
It’s the fact...
Hi all,
Hoping there might be someone who can offer a bit of advice. My Cupra 290 used to comfortably get 40mpg on the motorway but over the last 6 months I’ve seen quite an abrupt change and currently 31/32 appears to be the absolute maximum I can achieve (60mph cruise control on the motorway)...
H&R 30mm drop. Look great but I’m just fed up of the ride quality. Roads in Birmingham are worse than in the north east so I’m looking to put back standard. Just need to find a decent garage that quote a realistic price.
Yeah I thought it should be okay. Just had a quote for £500 labour from the dealer.... seems a tad excessive. Anyone got an idea of how much this should be? Based in West Midlands. Cheers!
Hi all,
Had the 290 SC running on lowered springs for 3 years now (from new) and as I’m intending on buying the car when the balloon payment comes up next month I’m thinking of putting the original springs back on. I don’t think I can continue with the absolutely awful comfort anymore (maybe...
Afternoon all,
I've noticed my rear bumper has a black plastic insert, where the number plate mounts, but have seen quite a few cars with it gloss black/body coloured. Is this piece removable or is the rear bumper all one piece? I'd be cautious about having it sprayed if it couldn't be...
If I'm entirely honest mate I'd go for the VWR or Eibach ones if I were you, I think the drop on the HR is probably too much for standard shocks, the ride is quite uncomfortable now to the point where I'm buying £2000 coilovers to make it enjoyable again
I feel i have to be totally honest and say the drop is probably too big for the OEM shocks. The car drives well and feels amazing on perfectly smooth roads but the ride is way too harsh in day to day driving, hence I'm buying coilovers. I'd go for a smaller drop and retain some of the comfort. I...
Anyone know which coilovers are suitable for the Cupra 290 SC? I've noticed several sets of coilovers advertised for the Cupra have the rear suspension set up with spring and shock together but this isn't the same as the standard set up? Unfortunately I'm a total rookie when it comes to...
Front? I didn't have to remove the bumper just the piece of trim along the top edge which allows you to access the rear of the grille. I've got large hands and I managed to get inside and release the clips!
Of course. Front badge you remove a piece of trim which runs along the edge of the grill when you lift up the bonnet. You can then access the little clips which using a knife and a torch I just bent back out of the way then levered each corner out.
The rear badge you need to remove the edge of...
Anyone got direct experience with the JB1? I like the thought of keeping my warranty alive but have to say I'm tempted by the more moderate gains from the JB1
Sorry mate I should have said, you can buy the badges from Seat and paint them yourself. Front cost me £5 and I think the boot was £30. Very easy to change
If that was my alloy there would be absolute hell to pay. To be honest if your alloys were brand new I'd be demanding they give me a new alloy. If you keep your car immaculate you expect people working on your car to do so too.
