In a word yes, I imagine your rears are nowhere near as worn. They will last a lot longer not being the driven wheel. You could buy some more good tires and put them on the rear and the original rears on the front. You will have a matching set much quicker then.

I used a very fine wire wool on mine with autoglym metal polish to bring the tips closer to a mirror finish, I would agree there should be no need to for just general cleaning though. IMO the original tip finish is poor, certainly on my car anyway and the pic shows up the difference :)

Working for a hearse building company I would like to say other colours are available and becoming more popular haha! But yeah I have seen far too many black cars now.

I've just had a pair of Pilot Super Sport 4s fitted, they are far superior to the terrible bridgestones! Highly recommend. They did damage my wheel fitting them though :cry: I will have to see if they do a good job repairing the chip.

+1 if you go into the vehicle settings on the centre display, they have to be reset there.

I used some of the Liberon steel wool as recommended by JMAC (cheers for the link), along with some Autoglym metal polish. Great results with some time and effort. Still need to do the left pipe and I think the right could use a bit more attention

My mate has a DSG 184 Tdi and he is averaging 52 mpg. Mines the 150 manual and gets slightly more. I'll be the devil on the shoulder and say go Cupra, it will probably niggle at you if you don't. But be prepared to cry when you think about the addition cost haha. Or just buy a cheaper fast car...
