I bought a leon fr wheel to replace my standard rubber one. Was hoping them buttons would work because they're backlit but they didn't. So I swapped my buttons from old wheel over.
You're issue is different because your car didn't come with buttons. You have to fit a module and probably wire it...
The grommet I used to send power through is behind where the bonnet holder thing goes next to strut cover. If you lift the scuttle you'll be able to see another grommet in line with it which leads to the back of glovebox. Remove the top of glovebox to help
Today I was driving and it lost all engine power for less than a second. Whilst it had no power the cel and epc light came on and then went off as soon as power was restored. It did this over half a year ago but not since. Does anyone know why or if it's normal? Yesterday when idle the engine...
Have you tried pressing the buttons themselves out of the case? I'd recommend getting a case with 3 buttons, it's useful when unloading stuff from the boot. It unlocks just the boot and then automatically locks it once you open it so you don't need to press lock on the key.
All the door speakers are the same across all mk4's. My passenger side was faulty so I just upgraded all front speakers. The original speakers are riveted in place. If you fit aftermarket speakers you'll need adapters to allow the speakers to be held in place. Speakers cost me £30 and made quite...
I'd assume the 3dr door is longer.
The squeaking belt is probably the aux belt which spins the alternator and AC compressor etc. I managed to change mine myself. Belt only cost me £10. There's a guide on here somewhere.
I got my timing belt and water pump replaced at the start of the year for £300 at a local VAG specialist with genuine parts. it was £135 for the parts and 3 hours of labour. Maybe it would be worthwhile getting a quote as you'd have a year warranty and when selling the car it would look better...
That grommet is the place most people put the wire through. You need to remove the top part of the glove box and reach all the way to the back behind the insulation. If you lift up the plastic trim infront of the bonnet you'll see there is a second grommet behind the one you've found in the...
Just found a link to this post in another post. Remember you'll need to remove the bumper to replace the units.

From what i've seen on here it looks like our engines have the worst throttle lag out of all the mk4s. There was an ecu update in 2009 which is meant to help with throttle lag but at my local dealer it's £60 just to check if there is an update...
My 1.4 Sportrider which I'm fairly certain has the same 1.4 100hp BBZ engine as yours idles just below 700 when warm. It's annoying because when combined with the throttle lag makes it easy to stall.
I've tested it on the same cable as the window going up. With the multimeter I can see the voltage of the cable when the window goes down goes to 3v and when it goes up drops to 0v. The rest of the time it is 12v.
The module sends 0v to tell it to put the windows down so unless I can somehow...
Thanks for your reply. In the instructions it says the wire should be positive except when the key is held in the unlock position it drops to zero. I'll have a go with the multimeter when it's not raining to see if the wire used to put the windows up changes voltage when held in unlock position...
Hi, I managed to find an autowindow reflex module someone brought years ago thinking it would work in their mk2 Leon. The instructions don't include the ibiza. I've managed to figure out every wire except the white one which is used to wind windows down. I've tried every remaining wire but it...
Not sure about the single bulb headlights. You can take the light covers off and turn them on with something covering the front so they heat up. This will help to get rid of some of the condensation. Some people drill holes in the light covers to allow the condensation to escape.
