Reading that again it sounds like neither the release bearing or fly wheel. If it gets louder when driving faster it can be a bearing in the gearbox as well.

I have the same problem and it is either the flywheel or the release bearing, the noises are so similar you cant tell until you open up the clutch... They should both sound like a chatter (or a tractor...) and go away when the clutch is pressed in.

Try starting it with jump leads from another car when its hot to identify if its the battery. Wouldnt have thought it would matter about the temperature for the battery though Alternator next stop after that?

I have HK coilovers and they have creaked since they went on, no issues though.
