  1. Cupra r brembo brake line routing

Yeah, you're right. Not through the drop links. Up and over the knuckle, there's a little clamp that bolts andaro the strut that hooks everything in situ, then up to the union on the body of the car. Sorry about the crap pic but you get the general idea. Ignore the wrong way round brake disc too...
  2. Dumb cable

What's a good dumb cable boys and girls? Or does any old eBay crap work ok? Only want to use the Mickey mouse shareware vcds and I understand Ross tech are happy for you to use any old wire on there? Cheers guys and gals.
  3. Cupra r cut out PLEASE HELP

Mine did the exact same thing and it was crank sensor. Sometimes you'll get a cam sensor code when really it's actually the crank sensor going down apparently.
  4. AMK/BAM injectors

Just bought a set of BAM injectors to have them re-conned (det' issue and it feels like it's pulling a bit of timing occasionally) then I'm going to pop them in my AMK. The fella I bought them from seemed to think I might need to put a spacer washer behind the rail to stand them off a bit...
  5. Carpet out, airbag light on.

I did actually think I better disconnect that at the start which I did! Planned ahead, not like me. It goes out when it fires up, has a think for a second, comes in. Think it needs the computer.
  6. Carpet out, airbag light on.

Popped the carpet out this afternoon to dry it out, door seals must be clapped, fitted the seats back in and I've ended up with an airbag light. I was as careful as I could and everything except the alarm button is temporarily plugged back in so I'm not sure what I've done. Is there anything...
  7. Itchy left ear

Ear aids? That sucks! I thought it was just the humidity at work! I'll pop the plastics off when I get a minute over the weekend. Cheers guys.
  8. Itchy left ear

Hey guys and gals. Got a seriously itchy left ear lately but it's ok because I can scratch it on my handbrake lever. 1M Cupra R, back brakes past their prime, slightly sticky caliper N/S, I'm told there's no adjustment on these systems at all? Just a case of rip it all out and replace it or is...
  9. Stinky lcr

I think......... It was all down to a crank speed sensor going bad. Since getting a new one the old girl runs like a Swiss watch, boosts twice as hard and doesn't smell of pure petroleum. Think that sensor has been going down for a while but it manifested itself in a complete cut out/power...
  10. Stinky lcr

I'll have a good look at it tomorrow Ross, actually got a day off of work so I plan do roll about under the car for a few hours.
  11. Stinky lcr

Just smells like good old fashioned petrol vapour. I've had a quick look over the petrol hoses and they seem dry and in reasonable condition, though as you rightly point out they are fairly old and I don't think renewing them would hurt. The smell does seem to be coming from the evap' canister...
  12. Revo Stage 1 Opinions/Downsides?

Let us know how you get on won't you mate
  13. Revo Stage 1 Opinions/Downsides?

No real downside imho. My brother had an AGU A3 REVOd and it seemed to improve the fuel economy. My LCR came ready REVOd, it's not brilliant on the fuel but then it's not supposed to be . I will say make sure your hardware is up together on an older motor before you start shoving horsepower up...
  14. Stinky lcr

The old shed had developed a bit of a petrol smell whilst driving. Can't see anything leaking but if I put my (big ugly) nose above the charcoal can I get a bit of a whiff. Nothing that I would deem enough to make the car smell of petrol mind but obviously all the time I'm sniffing at it in not...
  15. LSD on a Cupra R

Thinking of doing mind soon, diff bearings are starting to get a little vocal so if it's out on the floor it may as well have a diff quaife ATB promises good results with the TC engaged (how I usually drive it tbh) and is a fit and forget effort so probably the route I'll take. TSR supply, fit...
  16. Pinking

Yeah, was a strange one, doesn't seem to have done it for a bit but then I've not been battering it after hearing the det'. Just reminded me of my Labradoodle was all lol, I walked her everywhere off of her lead in the end. She was a rambunctious sort!
  17. Pinking

Yeah, usually posh Tesco or v power. I'll give it the odd tenners worth of ordinary stuff but only if I'm pottering around local at 30mph. I live next door to work and don't drive it much so i will fuel it as I need it because I know it can go bad if it's in there ages. I'll check plugs...
  18. Pinking

Yeah, I do just generally toodle about in it anyways, not keen on destroying my engine at the minute! It went in a few months ago for a diagnostic at a proper vag place, I felt I had a bit of a rev hang issue, but they drew a blank with codes and stuff then. I've got another really good...
  19. Pinking

Afternoon guys 2003 AMK, Revo stage 1, 128K miles. Got a bit of a det' problem at the minute, you can hear the pinking sometimes, sounds like the wastegate is constantly open in the higher gears under boost and according to my super accurate (!) 3 quid Bluetooth made in China adapter doofer...
  20. Throttle slow to close, ruining underwear.

Might look at doing that too. It's very screamy (for want of a better word lol) on boost in the higher gears sometimes, I was thinking forge spring or n75 not working quite as it should and the waste gate getting jacked straight open? Doesn't sound like a standard boost leak you know? Got a tiny...
