I took the plunge. Removed the armrest and exposed the wishbone type thing with the 2 handbrake cables. A simple 10mm nut is all it is. I put the handbrake to 5 clicks and just did the nut up, ensuring cables were released when handbrake down. Simples. Personally I think it’s bit of design...

Well that is very interesting. As you say the only logical explanation would be everyone has beige/brown wrong and should be leatherette. I’m glad I’m not the one shelling out 350 to find out!! Good effort removing for a peek though :)

To Remove: Remove plastic back cover. (Pops off) Remove 2 hex bolts from left/right side. Remove rear 2 hex nuts. Lift up/slide back. Off it pops. Zero damage to the console.

Ordered all my parts via the dealer. Came in about £350 in total

Yeah. About right. Took it out for a drive today and it’s amazing how I’ve gone without it. My arm naturally just rested on it. Very comfortable

Job done. There were a couple of parts not required. I’ll post the full part list required should anyone else want to order.

My little retainer brackets have arrived. Going to attempt fitting the armrest in the dark. :) Photos to follow hopefully.

Ok. Thought that might be the case. The LI8 bit is Titan Black. This matches the plastic bit that fits on the back. I just went out in the freezing cold and checked that the plastic does indeed match the rest of the car. So, I’m a bit stumped. On that ifinterface site it lists two possible...
