I siren noise can be caused by a poor ground in your stereo system. If it winds up and down as you rev up the engine. Are you sure if it is or is not coming through your speakers?

I ordered a set from ebay awhile ago they were significantly cheaper than any of the retail prices I could find online. I don't recall the brand but they seem to be well made. No issues yet.

Even if you don't get caught I would recommend using proper rated tyres for ice and snow. Getting into an accident is not worth the cost you'll save not buying the tyres. Winter tyres make a huge difference in braking and accelerating.

Your wiper linkage has probably seized up. I would suspect that is the most likely cause of your problem.

I'm not super loyal to any particular brand. Every time I need a new car I evaluate everything available and make the choice for the best car that year. Different years I find different brands come out on top for one reason or another.
