Thank you :)
Latest is that the dealer now wants to invite an 'independent technician' to inspect the car to try to ascertain whether it's a warranty issue or not. We're now fairly confident that the dealer is just stalling and putting off the inevitable. As you've said, if there is damage to...
Hi,
Being as my Cupra 300 has now been written off, I've got a pretty much brand new resonator sat in my shed, which I obviously now won't need.. It's only covered about 600 miles in it's life. It was removed when I had a res delete fitted..
I have absolutely no idea how much it's worth.. If...
Thanks for the replies [emoji106]
We've now opened a case with Ford (just to get an 'official' response prior to considering potential further action).
We've also informed the finance company, as advised. They have offered to open an investigation with Ford if we do not receive a satisfactory...
Hi,
My stepson bought a 2017 Ford Focus (1.0 Ecoboost 125 manual) from a Ford dealer back in July 2018.
About a month ago, the gearbox developed a fault whereby it wouldn't go into reverse (all other gears are fine). My stepson took it straight back to the dealer who advised that they 'should'...
It was only 3 months old, however because it was a lease car (and I didn't have the option to own it at the end of the agreement), the new car replacement didn't apply :(

At the moment, I'm gutted that it's been written off but as you've mentioned, there was obviously a lot of repair work which needed to be carried out, and I don't think that I'd have been 100% happy with the car having that much work done on it... I think in the long term it's probably better...
Yep. VWFS (the lease company) provide a settlement figure to Admiral, and Admiral settle the lease. The only issue with that is, if Admiral's valuation and settlement offer is LESS than the settlement figure given by VWFS, then I have to pay the difference.
I'm hoping that, because it was...
The repair quote was £17k and that didn't take into account any potential damage to the transmission. To be fair to Admiral (and as I said in one of my previous posts) I'm surprised that they even authorised the repairs based on the £17k quote!!
My guess is that Admiral wouldn't authorise the potential repairs to the DSG box and the repair garage (understandably) didn't want to go putting the car back together, and then discovering that the transmission was knackered.
Update....
Admiral have called me again this morning to say that the car has now been written off :( :( :(
I now have the joy of dealing with settlement figures and looking for a replacement (cheaper!) car for the next couple of years...
I haven't seen any reports yet - I was told about the repair estimate when I spoke to the repair garage yesterday. They were reluctant to start the repairs in case they got it to a roadworthy state and then discovered that there was a problem with the DSG box. I spoke to Admiral who have now...
To be honest, I'm just glad that I've finally got some form of replacement car.
And everyone knows, the best handling car is a hire car right? :roflmao:
Mate, I honestly can't wait.. The whole thing has stressed me out. Can't wait to get it back! Although in hindsight it was probably a bit of overkill just to get a new front wheel after I kerbed it a few weeks before [emoji23]
And would you look at the state of the hire car..

Had the estimate from the repair garage for my Cupra today...
£17k [emoji44]
And that's assuming that there's no damage to the DSG box..
Admiral have authorised the repair. At least now (judging by the repair cost) I'll have a virtually brand new car again [emoji23]
