From my experience in some other VAG cars it's also to override the speed limiter (not warning) if you have it switched on. Had a Fabia loan car a few months ago with no cruise so just pinned the throttle before the click and set the limiter...
I do get this on my 2014 Leon, but always seems to be when the phone gets to below around 25%. Battery saver on my phone (android) isn't set to come on until 20% so sounds phone related to me. I also get a different warning to that which comes across the whole top of the screen and won't go...
Anyone else had an unusual issue with the fog lights? With most auto lights, leaving it in Auto and pulling out the dial to turn on the fogs turns on both the lights and fog lights. With mine pulling it out turns on the main beam, and then I get a warning light about a lighting fault - it...
Thanks, I'll give that a go. I did have quite a few bits on that corner replaced (top mount, roll bar link, bushes) after it happened so I would have hoped one of these things would have been noticed....
So after the hit, they checked out the suspension/steering for anything that was obviously bent, recentred the steering from the rod ends, and sorted the alignment. After that the steering was still very slightly out, hence the second tweak.
Tyres are pretty even, if it is a bent rack, can it be fixed or will it need a new one? Second hand ones on eBay are fairly reasonable at around £150 but EuroCar Parts is around £900....I'm guessing fitting isn't that simple?
Yes they did a pretty thorough check and did the alignment. Even before they adjusted the steering slightly the weighting of the steering was still weird. They're a decent VAG specialist so I hope they know what they're doing.
A couple of months ago in the snow I ended up going straight on at a corner, sliding into the kerb and putting my steering out. Took it to a vw specialist and they have simply turned in the rod ends at one side and out on the other to recentre the steering which has worked. The only unusual...
Thanks everyone. Had it at a VW specialist this morning, they insisted it was the alignment that was out and it needed a full 4 wheel alignment as the angle sensor wouldn't cause the steering wheel to be off. Had that checked this afternoon and it's fine. Steering is of course still off...
Hi All,
First post on the forum!
Unfortunately in the recent snowy weather I managed to go straight on at a corner and slide into a kerb:cry:, putting my steering out (straight ahead now makes me go left) and a lovely scrape on my alloy. After numerous alignment checks at a few different...
