When mine was new I had Continentals on it, they were soft and wore out quick... I have always gone with Avon ZZ3's since, great tyre, hard wearing and excellent grip...... Tyre shopper does them for under £95 usually. inc fitting

If you take out the glow plugs you will have no compression, saying that it will still fuel, so it may get messy........
