I seem to recall an auto volume feature in the settings somewhere? Even with this turned off, it will still change the volume slightly when it is turned right up, presumably to avoid damaging the speakers.

I have this issue with the passenger side rear door of mine. It is going back to the dealer to be looked at tomorrow so hopefully they will find out what is causing it. Mine appears to be the door seal.

I believe the noise you are hearing might be the fuel pump. I thought I had an issue when I first got my old FR 150 but I then found out that it is actually quite common and you can only hear it when starting the car from cold.
