I can confirm that this has been ordered, received and installed in my Cupra 300 DSG.
It took 10 minutes and it was "plug and play".

I started to look for remap about 2 months ago.
I have contacted my local garage and they said that stage 1 is not a problem and they can do it. when I asked about the maps and how they do it, do they tune it on the car or doing any additional checks post remap there was no answer what so ever...

EDIT:
Maps are Nov 2017 as car has been registered in March 2018. It has been as a demo car and I have bought it in June.
I have been told that all is updated and nothing to worry about.

Looks like this solve the problem.
When I purchased the car this option was not proposed to me.
So the simple answer is: No.
