What's the difference between the gt1749vc turbo and the gt1749v ? I'm looking at rebuild kits but can't find them for the vc

Hi When putting injectors in with new seals is a must but is there any angles or degrees or adjustment needed for them to work correctly? Or are they just a drop in and go part?

Hi Was thinking of checking valve clearance. Firstly, is this a normal thing to do with the 170 lump? What should the clearances be? Can you adjust them or would knew shims be required?

Hi I've laid my hands on a turbo sold with no play. There's no back and fourth play but a bit side to side, is that normal?

Hi I have developed an odd noise. When I drive normally, from 1500 revs onwards in lower gears there is noise like a blown exhaust and rattles when turning. In higher gears the noise is more prominent at higher rpm. I can see no evidence of exhaust blow. Also when revving when not in gear...

So today I fitted a reverse camera which was quite straight forward. Or so I thought. When I test it with ignition on it works a treat. In reverse and hey presto. But when I start the engine and do it I get.. no video signal ? No idea why

I can't test this as I don't have a spare key. If the cars running can you still lock it with the central locking outside of the car?

Hi I have what appears to be an exhaust blow more noticeable in lower gears or higher rpm in higher gears. Does the dpf run from the turbo all the way to the mid part of the car or does it release at the Flexi section. Mines stainless at the back so can only assume it's blowing from the dpf area

The rear door is unlocked via the central locking but has stopped opening from the outside. It works fine once it's been opened from the inside until you use the central locking again. Maybe co incidental but the lights on buzzer has stopped working at the same time. Any ideas? Thanks

Steering feels notchy when steering at stand still or very slowly. I believe it's electric Steering, is it signs of wearing out or is there anything to check?

Anyone got a pic of the intercooler on there 2l tdi fr 170. I read it's a fmic but unless it's between the rad and aircon rad then I can't see it. It is is then it must be very thin.
