For a while the car was running rich does to the ECU wiring being damaged, causing temp senders to not work. Now I have it all sorted I think a fresh fuel filter would be a good idea.
Question is which one is the best?
Is the OEM fuel filter Bosch?
Last time I used a crossland one as it was...
Mine does this after being sat over night. Something is leaking oil I think but unsure what exactly... So far ive read that it could be the turbo, injector seals or tandem pump. Also heard the cam timing being out can cause this - after having timing belt done.
Paul Smith - Good call on turbo...
Both sensors were 2 pin and replaced with genuine ones. Thermostat I've taken out and checked in boiling water, it's all working properly.
Checked battery and alternator, checked some of the earth points - all good.
No fault codes relating to temp sensors but still the problem. Surely I would...
I know this is an old post but just curious if you solved this?
I have the ignition switch fault codes and recently have had trouble with temperature and fans.
My fans never kick in and although I've replaced both temp sensors, tested thermostat - the car does not register coolant temp at all...
It should be higher. Driving steady you should get over 50mpg.
Obvious stuff to try would he a full service, air fuel and oil filters etc..
Tyre pressures, brake calipers, check for boost leaks.
A bottle of Miller's diesel treatment to clean fuel system and injectors would be a good idea too
Yeah they do come back after clearing.
I've done some googling and found a few people mentioning strange issues which were resolved after replacing the ignition switch on Audi VW skoda etc so I'm going to replace it.
Hopefully it'll solve the problem I've got but if not at least I'm...
Could these ignition faults be linked to a problem I'm having with the car not reading coolant temperature?
In my Haynes manual under the ignition section it mentions the ECU and handling information from sensors
Also the day I first had problems with the car temperature readings going crazy...
I know I have a temp problem of some kind but have changed both temp sensors for genuine new ones recently.
Car seems to be over fuelling and spits out a cloud of white smoke/almost steam when starting.
Gauge never reads over the bottom value of 50. Reading the ECU it says -40 constantly.
It was...
I know the wires from various sensors go into that plug. Definitely the coolant temp sensor under the air box because I followed the wire back to that plug recently when changing the sensor.
Are you sure the plug is leaking oil?
I failed my mot on emissions yesterday.
The car is reading temperature wrong, permanently -40 so it's not getting the correct fuel mix. I'm hoping if I can solve this problem and then run some v power, Miller's injector cleaner and a good drive, it'll pass. Hopefully!
Thanks this was very useful, i used this to access the temp sensor in the thermostat housing.
Alternator was very tight to remove and also abit tricky to get back in place.
Im curious which would be easier/quicker, removing altenator or egr?
Update.. still having the same problem
Today i fitted the new temp sensor which is in the thermostat housing
But still no different. Ive picked up a bluetooth adapter and a couple of apps.
The only fault codes are ignition switch related?
The toque app giving me realtime info from the ecu...
I successfully fixed 2 doors on mine with the wd40 trick
Tbh i wouldnt worry about sealing the holes. If it drys out you can easy spray some more in now youve made them
Aircon has never worked. I tried having it regassed and the guy was really helpful testing first. Car gassed up fine but compressor didnt turn on.. so he removed all the gas and didnt charge me
Carista bluetooth code reader arrived yesterday and shows 00819 G65...
Just wondering, how are people finding part numbers and diagrams etc? Is there a service book online?
I bought the haynes manual which is ok but doesnt go into that much detail.
Also since my car is nearly at 140k im wondering if removing the egr to clean, would also make room to access the...
