    1.5TSI EVO 150 Surprisingly gutless?

As a 1.5 150 owner, I can tell you it’s more or less the same as you describe. Perhaps at motorway speeds it can pick up surprisingly well... but I say surprisingly well compared to the lacklustre performance I experience the rest of the time. It’s still lacking for something that supposedly has...

    1.5TSI EVO 150 Surprisingly gutless?

I agree. It does seem to be the only explanation. I too thought that maybe VW are now just “honest” with their BHP figures but I looked on the Superchips website to check the before and after figures on their dyno. Turns out the 1.5TSI 150 they ran was pushing out 164bhp before the remap. So...

    1.5TSI EVO 150 Surprisingly gutless?

I have unfortunately, mine lives in Sport mode. However, I can’t tell any difference in performance between the 4 modes, just the steering changes. Oh and while I remember, do you have “Off-road” mode alongside Eco, Normal and Sport? I find that very odd

    1.5TSI EVO 150 Surprisingly gutless?

Sounds great, I will definitely look into the 3 series then! I know 320d is the most sensible option but I can’t help look more towards a 340i Touring. Insurance would be a killer for me though

    What was your first motor??

Still hold a soft spot for my indestructible 2001 Fiesta Flight with the rattly, old (but bulletproof) 1.3 engine, complete with rubbish, cheap personalised reg that I bought with my first student loan payment... Very nearly killed it so many times (through my own utter stupidity) but it kept...

    1.5TSI EVO 150 Surprisingly gutless?

That’s interesting. I’ve been tempted to go and test drive a VW group 150ps diesel to compare but sounds from your experience that it’s what I suspected. On another note, I really like the F30 3 series and although I’m around 18 months off getting a new car I’m seriously tempted by one. What...

    1.5TSI EVO 150 Surprisingly gutless?

It is most definitely a 150! Unless there’s been some misbuild at the factory that’s what I’ve been sold (from new) and is what it’s registered as. I don’t have the engine code to hand

    1.5TSI EVO 150 Surprisingly gutless?

Yeah I thought that, but it’s now done 7500 miles and while the economy is MUCH improved, the performance has stayed much the same. Thought I’d give it chance before having a moan about it haha

Post Pic's of Your Mk3 Leon In Here

Holy moly, bet you were gutted! The two XE’s I’ve known of have had to have a new wiring loom (apparently a nightmare on the XE) and the other one had a problem that just shut off the engine and all the electrics at high speeds when it felt like it. Dealers couldn’t get to the bottom of that...

    1.5TSI EVO 150 Surprisingly gutless?

As I said before, mine is a lease and having driven many other Leon Mk 3s in the past few years and owned a few VAG cars I happily went ahead without too much thought. Like you say, after driving the 1.4 150 (albeit in a much smaller car) I was expecting performance that resembled it to an...

Post Pic's of Your Mk3 Leon In Here

Oh wow, what a great car history. Such a shame about the Jag though. I was only eyeing up a used one online yesterday! I know of two people who own/have owned an XE and they’ve both had a major (but different) fault that, as you described, left the car back at Jaguar for far too long. However, I...

    1.5TSI EVO 150 Surprisingly gutless?

What a shame, mate. I think maybe I’ve got off lucky because it does it for the first few seconds when cold but I know I’d be furious if it was how yours sounds. Have you tried to take it further with SEAT? You don’t expect this sort of thing from such a new car.

    1.5TSI EVO 150 Surprisingly gutless?

Absolutely, I love the car and it easily makes up for the fact the engine does not live up to expectations (though perhaps these were too high). I feel for you not being able to enjoy your new car as much as you’d like. The kangarooing is very irritating, but usually in winter it’s warmed up...

    1.5TSI EVO 150 Surprisingly gutless?

Hmm... from everything I’ve heard and read it sounds as though the previous 1.4TSI is a much stronger engine. You used to hear people raving about the 1.4 but you don’t hear that about the 1.5 version. I had a 1.4TSI 150 Audi A1 courtesy car a year or two ago and that REALLY shifted!
