I phoned my insurance company yesterday (Adrian Flux) to get a quotte for remapping my FR TDi up to 175bhp and was expecting a huge increase in price, but they only quotted me an extra £35 for the year so I'l definetely be telling my insurance company of the remap (when i actually get it done...
I dont think i'l bother if its gonna cost that much, would look good but think my money would be best spent elsewhere.
What you dont to your car Rosco? not done much lately, finally finished my fibreglass sub box enclosure, will get some pics up shortly.
cheers
Looking to buy a badgeless grill for my FR, but cant find any honeycomb ones. I've searched through loads of threads but cant find an answer. A lot of people seem to think you can get them but nobody knows where. Any help would be great
cheers
Got a phone call from Seat this morning so this should clear things up.
VAG approve the use of 5% biodiesel in all their diesel engines and they approve the use of 100% biodiesel in some of thier engines. The way to check is to look at your data sticker (in the boot, spare wheel compartment)...
Spoke to someone at SEAT today and gave him my reg and chassis number. He's gonna look into it for me and get back to me so hopefully i'l be able to confirm where bio can be used in the PD engine.
cheers
Just got an email back from Seat asking for my Reg & chassis number for them to give a final answer so will keep you posted although it sounds like you know what your talking about with the PD engines so i'm thinking they might be an exception
I did read that on an old thread about the fuel cap sign but i've also read in other websites that VAG have now approved the use of biodiesel in 90% of their deisel engines but cant seem to get that confirmed.
Thanks for the info tho
A friend(who is a mechanic) recommended a biodiesel supplier to me the other day to run in my Ibiza FR TDi, he is using it in his car and is having no problems at all, however its not a VAG car and was just wondering if anyone is running it on a PD engine?
I've emailed seat a few days ago...
If your looking for some advice regarding ICE try www.icecavern.com
Sure you'l find anything your after in the forum there, there used to be an ibiza install guide there (with pics), not sure if it's still there tho but worth a look.
okay, okay! you's are kinda putting me off the idea of a dump valve now. Might spend my money on something else, been toying with the idea of getting a remap anyway so might just keep saving. Got a price of £300 from Angel Tuning but not heard too much about them so i'm undecided. Anyone know...
Thanks for your comments, had a look at the forge valve, but at £245 its way too expensive for what i'd get from it.
I think i'd really need to hear one on a diesel first before buying one, as you could be right about not sounding right on a diesel. As i said i'm only considering it at the...
Before everyone takes the p*ss, i know this does nothing for power on a TDi, purely for the noise - not to everyones taste i know but just thinking about it.
I've seen a few on ebay, but dont know much about them tbh so some advice would be usefull. Here are links for 2 i seen on ebay...
Thanks Guinness,
Think i'l order one of those from ebay. Just remembered that i can run windows on my mac so should work fine.
Where did you get VAG COM software from?
cheers
Hi Guinness,
Have you had any luck resetting your airbag warning light yet? I need mines reset too so keep us posted on how you get on.
Also, I've seen this VAG COM cable on ebay, would this work ok...
I've just stared my fibreglass build in boot yeterday. Gonna fibreglass a box into passenger side of boot to fit 12" sub (10" would prob be better i know but already have the sub from last install). I've not got much done so far but will start a thread with pics etc when i get more done.
Have you thought about gettin a mufflerectemy? basically, remove the backbox and replace it with straight through piping and choose your tailpipe trim. Would be a good bit cheaper and sounds good too.
yeah, had a look on ebay and prices looked pretty good, just quite hard to judge the colour. I seen the following items on ebay;
