  1. Alhambras and rust?

Morning Guys and Gals, Been years since I last posted on this forum after moving away from SEATS with the sale of my Leon Cupra in 2005. However, I maybe re-entering the fold with a possible purchase of a 2006 SEAT Alhambra 2.0Tdi Reference. I am looking at a tidy car with 106K on the clock...
  2. Does anyone know this car?

Hi  Been away for a very long time since I sold my Cupra back in 2005. Now, I could be back to the Cupra scene as I am looking at a 54 plate black Cupra R with interest. The dealer sounds like a wide boy  but on their advert, they have listed that this car has been remapped...
  3. TDI Remap!

You may want to upgrade your suspension or brakes from a safety and handling perspective. Extra strain will be placed on primarily the clutch but this can be limited by not applying loads of torque from standstill etc.. You can choose to uprate the clutch to one that better handles the extra...

  5. I love this forum ....

:D Thanks! Grand piece of art :)
  6. I love this forum ....

.... but I will be here even less unforunately due to my switch away from VAG cars when I replace my Bora at the weekend. Been here for a while now and I have to say out of the forums I frequent, SCN is the most entertaining and most responsive! Come across some very nice and very helpful...
  7. Price of diesel

I have been away for 10 days and in that time diesel is 5p/litre more. I can't believe it! I know the price / barrel is increasing but isn't it about time the government reduced their fuel tax to help us? Take a look at this graph (source = BBC website), with that kind of gradient, I cannot...
  8. Price of diesel

No chance! The £1 litre is now here to stay IMO. It will go down a bit perhaps but I doubt it will dip below £1. You will be used to paying and the government will make sure it stays at this level, even if oil prices drop.
  9. Attributed to MAF?

Thanks! .... Never knew VAG PDs have so many common faults ... or is my engine particularly common - think I have every common fault going!
  10. Opinions: to go diesel or not

Quick cars are not usually quiet ;)
  11. Attributed to MAF?

Hmmm .... need to approach someone with VAG com. Thanks for the suggestion, have you had this fault before?
  12. Price of diesel

Are we officially the nation that pays the highest for fuel in Europe? I just don't understand why the government can't relax the fuel duty to help. Instead of saying we will freeze the hike of fuel duty Mr Darling, how about doing what a government is supposed to do and that is to serve...
  13. Attributed to MAF?

My car was running fine when the engine coolant sensor was replaced but now the blasted machine is behaving odd again. Can idle rough - the car physically shaking at times when standing still. Typically soon after start-up. Some trouble starting up in the morning. When it does come to...
  14. Cure for headlight condensation

Recently, when I was replacing bulbs for my mum's Golf, I forgot to put the back cover back on and this allowed moisture to get in. When I placed the cap back, the moisture stayed in there and condensed when the it was cool and clearing when it was hot. Eventually, I left the lights on, with...
  15. LEon 110 wont start in the cold, doesnt even make a noise! HELP please!! :(

Sounds like the battery. Is it old?
  16. LEon 110 wont start in the cold, doesnt even make a noise! HELP please!! :(

When it warms up, it just starts normally?
  17. induction kit v panel filter

Very interesting and proves my thoughts when I used to have a panel filter in my old Leon. I had a Green panel filter but then went back to the OE ones as I felt changing them at every service (10K miles) made the car feel just as good. Over the time I owned the car, it worked our cheaper as well.
  18. 120,000 Service.......

£415 for a service?? That is very steep!
  19. Cruise control fitting service

Just wanted to say that I had my cruise control fitted by this guy yesterday after seeing his details on this thread. Top guy and top service! Came to my place of work and sorted it in just over an hour.
  20. Over 100k miles?

Engine and gearbox should be fine in my opinion but the interior is another issue. My PD Tdi Bora has just had it 90K mile service about 2 weeks ago, I read somewhere that a diesel engine is only worn in at about 80K miles, so if that is true at around 200k miles, I would start to worry and at...
