One of the possible causes of the code is apparently the engine coolant temperature sensor being faulty. Would changing it be an easy/cheap job? Could I do it myself?
I didn't buy the sensor. The garage provided both of the ones that have subsequently become "faulty". They say they are SEAT ones. Specifically when I asked about it last time they changed it and it threw up a code less than a week later, they said that they would make a claim against SEAT for a...
Ok a bit of history.
Owned a Leon Cupra 20VT since 2006. It was fault free for several years and then around 2011 I got an Engine check light on the dash. Turns out it was a P0131 fault code and so I had the first O2 sensor changed. All was well for a while but around a year later the engine...
Badger5.. that's my exact worry! I don't really trust my local garage as they are already making the kind of speculative noises that just shout "expensive fix" to me.
I'd rather take it to an experienced specialist that knows the engines well, and get it fixed once and for all. I have a VW...
Unfortunately I don't know the code of the current warning, but the garage and AA both told me that the previous warnings included the code for the front 02 sensor, (though on one occasion also included other codes). So I'm assuming it's the 02 sensor that's going to be flagged now...
I have an engine warning light issue on my 02 LC (1.8T 180bhp)
When it first came on had the AA check it they said it was the front O2 sensor.
Went to garage had that changed, everything was fine for a couple of days then warning light came back on.
Back at garage they said couldn't...
quick question that is related.
Those of you that have had the cambelt changed, could you tell it had been changed from the way the car sounded or drove??
Just curious because I had one done on an old Clio once and the car sounded much quieter afterwards and seemed a bit more responsive...
I think you guys saying fitting an "R" badge will make the OP look stupid, are missing the point.
It's a hell of a lot worse than that !!! He could be accused of fraud/misrepresentation under the sale of goods act if he tries to sell it with the badge on. To say nothing of the kind of...
Of course, it's the famous latin temperament. You can't expect boring consistancy from a Spanish (or Italian) car !! :p
I have noticed this but, to be honest there are so many things that affect power production on an engine apart from just air temperature, (eg atmospheric presure on the...
So the manufacturers of the turbo on the LCR are saying it shouldn't be boosted to make more than 220 hp?? Surely if that was the case all those mapped LCRs out there would be having problems??
Interesting to note on their website that there is no LCR option under SEAT for their product...
Thanks for the info.
Strange thing is, today it seems to have stopped doing it. I was getting logged out for the last month or so and now it's back to normal. Wierd !
curpablue.
I can't say it bothers me in the slightest. In fact I've never really noticed it most of the time. I've always relied on the dash indicator to know if my lights are on, not the fact that the dash itself is lit.
Personally I think it's a good idea anyway. Helps a lot with visibility of the...
Obviously too much lift off oversteer can be dangerous, but it shouldn't be dialed out completely as the most common reason to be lifting off mid corner is because of over fast entry speed. It's exactly in this situation that you need to be able to tighten your line. Often turning the wheel more...
Fair enough, have you checked the offset though? I mean once you've got adaptors on. The offset is right on the edge of what can be fitted as is, might be a problem with the adaptors too?
Well they look very similar to stock Cupra R wheels to me, so they should look pretty nice I would have...
