If you leave your boot open for a certain period of time the light in the boot will turn off (don't ask me how long you have to leave it opened for this to work)
Just warn you in advance, you need a M8 bit to remove the lock from the door. It looks like a torx bit but with twice the number of splines.
Best of luck getting it fixed.

Hi Kieran,
I just left it well alone in the end. I had the door apart a few weeks ago to replace the window regulator and took the opportunity to have a quick poke around the lock mechanism. It is just the micro-switch that has gone t*ts up.
As you are local you could give Dave at SERE a...
I suspose it is luck of the draw, if you are saving enough over a big brand tyre and are happy to accept the potential drawbacks go for it. At the end of the day you have the knowledge that FATE make tyres for a big brand so will have gained knowledge etc.

Hi Andy,
I am talking about FATE, the ones I have on my car are the Advance AR-550.
See the link below for their web site (you may need to choose the English option at the bottom right of the page...
Hi Andy,
They will spin fairly easily in the wet. This is in fairly normal driving conditions, giving it a few beans from junctions or lights but not "chasing my own smoke" :)
Keep in mind I have the 1.9 tdi S (i.e 90 bhp) I would say the LCR will spin them to hell and back.
Hi Andy,
I had FATE fitted to the car when I bought my Leon, bought it from a family friend (car dealer), he put them on for me. Got 26K from the fronts, not bad in the dry but spin to hell in the wet.
I had a problem with this, got a cd multi changer but had a lead from the ibiza which did not fit the Aura HU. No harness in the car to plug into and my local dealer could not get a suitable harness.
So have a 6cd multichanger in the wardrobe which is basically useless!!!
Yep, it sure did. When you pull out the bulb (you'll need a set of needle nosed pliars to get at the bulb) you will probably see that the top of the bulb has a black hue to it. (inside the glass that is.)
Pull the old bulb out and pop down to your local car accessory store for a replacement...
I'm using Fate Tyres :)

The Advance AR-550 to be exact. Dont laugh that much, good in the dry, pi$$ poor in the wet!!
I'll check my instruction book later to make sure I am directing you to the correct part.
If all else fails you will need to contact a delaer with your VIN. If I were you I would ring round as many dealers as you can. If memory serves me correct some will charge you about £40 were some may do...
Hi Funkyfinn,
Sorry I have yet to get that Part Number for you. I moved into my flat in December and a lot of my stuff is still in boxes. The box with the Part Number on it is up in my folks house still.
I'm not in Belfast tomorrow but I'll be back on Saturday, I promise you I'll get the...
Yep,
That one will do the job perfectly. If you have a VW dealership near to your home I would get one from them. It will be cheeper and you will ge it faster.

A grey one from a MkIV Golf will fit and match the colour. Bought mine from a local VW dealer, abut £20 if I remember correctly.
Dont get one from a Passat, they are the wrong size.
