I've just replaced my electronic part of the remote fob for my 55 plate Cordoba 130 ( not the key as well ) and i went to a Seat Dealer. They charged me £71. The new fob comes with a 2 year part warranty from seat. Sorry, cant help on the price of the actual key though, John :confused:

In my opinion the price is about right for the mileage and year of the car. They reckon that 10k is about average per year so 99k for a 9 year old car is vertually spot on. As for my opinion on diesels i dont think that you will go wrong mate. Just make sure that the car comes with a sevice...

Hi all :) With reference to my original posting on this topic. Had a bad experience on tuesday while driving home from work Basically , while pulling away at a set of traffic lights there was a loud popping noise followed by lots of white smoke from the tail pipe and a whining noise...

The only smoke i can remember is when it first happened , and the popping noise / complete power loss occured.

The car does run but there is no power , and when you give it the slightest throttle you get that damm whining noise :( I'm probably going to get the car towed to my local independent VW specialist to have it checked , Mark
