  1. Glue left after de-badging and laquer missing

Have you tried that 'sticky stuff remover' (Google it) to get the glue residue off? - I've used it with success on many other things including painted surfaces. Its the stuff that smells citrusy, feels oily and shifts 'label gunk' from most surfaces. You'd need to do a test somewhere...
  2. LCR .. twin fans

It's not a bad thing to be paranoid about - better to ask questions and find a solution to go with! You need to get them sorted :)
  3. LCR .. twin fans

I've a Cupra TDI, not a Cupra R. I don't think there's difference in the fan setup but that's an educated guess rather than sound mechanical knowlege! :) There are some posts earlier on in this thread about some issues with the Nime box experienced by others - there was some 'interference'...
  4. LCR .. twin fans

Since last July. The standard Nime box sorted the fan problem in my Cupra.
  5. LCR .. twin fans

I am. No recurrence of the symptoms whatsoever. It's a good fix as far as I am concerned.
  6. Rear seat loop handle broken

They are just handles as far as I can tell. I can still lift the seat without them but it's easier with.
  7. Rear seat loop handle broken

Was considering taking off the stumpy bit of the broken one. Did you trim it back or is there a way of detaching the remainder of the strap from the underside of the seat?
  8. Rear seat loop handle broken

The black plastic loop handle at the front edge of one of my rear seats broke off today - I found it lying in the footwell. It's properly broken off with no chance of reattachment :( Has anyone had this happen, and is it a replaceable part?
  9. Glow Plug Connector Rail Broken

I have the recurrent engine management light (getting irritating now), the familiar fault codes reported for glowplug circuits 2 and 3... and the wiring harness/bridge on order from the local SEAT dealer! My preferred VAG specialist will fit it next Tuesday. This and other threads on the...
  10. Mk 5 Golf Rear Wiper not a good option !

Neither will break the bank - Touran wiper arm and blade was around £25 from local VW parts dept. It's entirely down to personal preference - I don't like 'blocky' and liked the aero look more than the solid Fabia 'chunk'.
  11. Mk 5 Golf Rear Wiper not a good option !

I put a Touran rear wiper on my LC a fortnight ago - it looks damn good. It wipes and looks a hell of a lot better than the standard one it replaced. All it needed was a slight trim to the cap (integral with the arm part) as there was contact with the rear windscreen during the wipe, but this...
  12. Fabia wiper coversion

Been down to my local VW dealer after deciding that the Touran rear wiper arm setup is the one for me. I took with me a list of the part numbers as quoted in this thread but the wiper arm part number didn't come up exactly as quoted when the parts dept checked their system. Part numbers they...
  13. Water leak into footwell - dodgy seal info and DIY repair guide (Image links dead)

Although my main swamp problem is the driver's side rear footwell, there is some dampness and a slight 'squelch' in the driver's side front footwell by the rubber inset of the carpet, and between it and the centre console area. This sounds similar to what you're describing, tazdevil2465...

  15. Water leak into footwell - dodgy seal info and DIY repair guide (Image links dead)

All 4 doors sealed :) And both front seals had disintegrated under the speakers, as you say - driver's side worse than passenger side, so we reckon in a fairly short time the passenger side would have become a swamp too. The back door seals looked okay - but are more than okay with new black...

  17. Water leak into footwell - dodgy seal info and DIY repair guide (Image links dead)

Thanks for the confirms on the locking mechanism. Rain forecast for tomorrow, but we're hoping there'll be a dry spell so we can at least do the one door that soaks my feet! Sessions for the other doors will follow when weather permits. Can't wait to get it done so I can start drying the...

  19. Water leak into footwell - dodgy seal info and DIY repair guide (Image links dead)

No fear - I've no intention of paying them to do it. I was just suspicious as to why they think doing it yourself is "tricky" because of "the locking mechanisms" when nobody here has mentioned any issues with locking. Suspect it was a feeble attempt to try to get more money than the value of...
