Yes put the nut on and then the new cap, which should have the gap for the washer jet to work. Test it working before you put the new cap on incase you need to adjust/tighten the nut.
I've done the same upgrade and there are no grooves on the new wiper to match the spline. You just line it up and put the nut back on that you took off to remove the old wiper arm. Mine has been on for 8 years with only one issue.
The wiper blade did not make contact very well so replaced it...
Had the same issue the other week after having a new battery, folded mirrors in and they would not open again. The glass would still move though.
Fixed by disconnecting both battery terminals and left for 30 mins, make sure you have your radio code ;). Reconnected and back to working again.
I had a similar issue as mine would unlock and lock again after slowing down, was an intermittent problem and i lived with it for years. Fixed it by replacing the door lock module on that door.
Don't know where the parts came from but I think you have two options for parts the cheaper being the fiddly option. The other I think is close to the £100 mark for the part as its fixed to a metal plate to make it easier to fit.
Some info in this thread...
Happened to me a short time ago.
From what I can remember about £20 for new cable and an hours labour at my local garage.
Not sure if you can keep the glass up without fixing the cable.
Just finished sealing the door after having the window regulator replaced. Took ages getting the old butyl off.
Just need a short heavy shower to test.
Had my passenger window regulator replaced after the glass dropped to the bottom of the door.
Only down side is the carrier panel needs redoing with butyl as the sill was full of water.:(
Got my car back from garage yesterday.. Now with my 3" Cobra exhaust fitted.. liking the new sound ;).
Next issue the passenger window regulator has failed and my window is now stuck at the bottom of the door.
