:) Sounds like most of the wear and tear problems that sounded the death knell for my 130 Sport a couple of years ago.Couldn't justify the cost of fixing it so very regrettably had to go.
I ran it from 1 year old(5000 miles).Sold it at 5.5 years old with about 85k on it.
Problems at the end...
:) Nice choice of car.I was going to buy a Cupra once. But i bought a 130 Sport instead.Great car,but as others have said it's suspension proved it's undoing.
Things that were wrong with mine when i sold it.
Front bushes knackered(this won't apply to your Cupra).
Broken front springs.(Maybe...
:( My Ibiza Sport was the worst car i've ever had for stone chips. It was red.Read somewhere a while back that the SEAT red paint was one of the worst affected by stone chips.Don't know how much truth there is in this though.I know the swooping bonnet design doesn't help much though.
These water...
:) As others have said.60K is just run in for the 130 pd.The engine is the best and strongest part of the car in my opinion.
Wait till it's fully warmed up(which can take a while in the Winter) before you open it up.
My 04 130 Sport had done about 80k when i traded it in.Engine was running...
Don't have my Ibiza anymore. But i used Morrisons a few times.Generally they were ok.Sometimes they were ace, others pretty poor.
Things they got wrong:
1)Failed to fit a fuel fliter(diesel) during service.I had to point it out to them.
2)Whilst waiting on car being serviced.Made to wait for...
:( My 130 Sport flew through it's MOT with not even an advisory.6 months later at it's service a specialist picked up:2 broken front springs, and both front(rear) bushes stuffed.
Hadn't thrashed it or hit anything on the road.I'd noticed a noise from the osf spring mind.
I think the broken...
:( I used to use Morrisons.Sometimes they were fine.Other times they were totally rubbish.
They seem to be more more multi franchise than ever before.
You only need to look at the range of cars they have for sale/are servicing to see the SEAT marque being diluted. That can't be a good thing.:(
:( Sold my old 130 Sport about a month ago.Quite a few things needing done,so i punted it.
Still miss it's raw power.Wasn't refined or anything.But that surge.Truly addictive.
:) I'm with Tick Direct(through Europ Assistance). It cost me £37.90 for a years cover for myself.I'm on the 'silver' level of cover which covers me for home start, relay etc.
I don't know how good it is in reality, but it certainly seems very good value on paper.
Found it through one of the...
:( I had the same creaking noise on my Ibiza.Used to hear it in the wet(mostly). Was at it's most pronounced after i left the car wash.Had it mot'd soon after and they found 2 broken front coil springs and 2 knackered front(rear) suspension arm bushes.Needless to say it failed the MOT.
:) Brilliant though the 182 is.I don't consider it as a town car.The Cupra TDI would be the better car for your needs.
If you want to save a few bucks, buy an FR TDI instead.
:) The reports of water ingress with the C1 are correct. Some dealers are so inept at fixing the fault they end up giving you another car(like for like). Then you can cross your fingers it doesn't start leaking as well.
:) Lot to be said for not having finance on a car.Well,up to a point. If it's not going wrong then fine. But if running repairs start to drain your finances, then sometimes you've just got to bite the bullet and get finance.
The C1 is a good wee car.But as they say 'it's a cheap car,cheaply...
:) My independant dealer did it(without removing the battery). He had bother with it being so tight,so he went into the workshop and came back with a long screwdriver- and used that to do something.Seemed to work as the bulb was replaced in no time.
Sorry i don't know what he moved with it,i...
 I bypassed the need for subtle exterior changes.I bought a 130 Sport.Even the exhaust is hidden away.Still.It's red and it's got 16" wheels and it's an Ibiza,so some divs still want to race me.
:( My mk4 Sport goes through more bulbs than any other car i've ever owned.
Dunno if it's the rock hard suspension,or just rubbish bulbs.Saying that,i've not had any go for about 3 months now,so that's a record. The condensation is normal. You get it free with every mk4.
:D That was the first thing that broke on mine.Still works(after a bit of encouragement).Looks like the accountants had ran out of money when they budgeted for it.
I'd get the cam belt, tensioners and water pump changed.Opinions vary, but 4years or 60k(whichever comes first) is a good...
:( It's strange to think how a thin little bit of rubber with teeth-is all that stops your engine from self destructing.
What a responsibility, given the work it has to do over 60,000 miles.I've lost count over the years of the number of people who've trashed engines in various cars, all because...
