was the DMF (Dual Mass Flywheel) in my case. Estimate cost to fix was approx £1600 due to DSG and non of my local garages having the knowlwedge to do the job without fear of messing things up, so sold it and moved on.
Hope it's not the same for you...
It became clear mine was the DMF when...
Not sure what version SC.net is running but there has been an announcement this evening of an upgrade to fix what might be quite a serious flaw allowing someone access to the database credentials.

Might be worth making sure all is up-to-date...
I haven't got the printout to hand from when mine was changed but those figures look similar to what mine ended up being. Fact is it still does it, along with the constant stuttering I get above 3K RPM (another thread) I'll be getting rid of before this new set of tyres are needing replacing...
really common problem. Apparantly affects most of the short wheel base VW hotter hatches with stiff suspension.
I've had the car for over two years and have had this problem on all of my tyres (front and back) even after a full four wheel alignment by reputable tyre center in Plymouth. Its...
You will have to excuse my ignorance but what is this... I had wondered if it was a boost leak as its around about the area when things are really being pushed.
How can I check for a boost leak - is this requested/Actual somewhere in VAGCOM? if so where etc..
Thanks
Wiring loom will be long enough to slide the whole thing out - especially if the SOT lead is also connected.
You wont have any issues with radio codes.
a parrot kit will normally beep rapidly for a few seconds if the screen is not detected. I have seen quite a few doing this where the ribbon cable has pulled itself out of the back of the screen.
The blue box isn't going to be far away from the back of the radio as a sot lead has almost...
Audi are doing exactly this to TDI 140 A4s. My dad took his back last year due to clutch slip and it was replaced and new software loaded. Job sheet said new software loaded that limits revs in 1st gear to the 2K ish mark. He says its noticably down on power and makes pulling away quickly at...
just had a similar discussion with my local tyre place today as needed 4 new tyres.
They put the Khumo KU31's in the same bracket as the Falcon ZE912's ie. Midrange
They said the Khumos were softer and didn't last as long but that they were a great tyre for the price, if you like to drive...
She's done 72K. Problem started about 13K ago agter a service. Garage found no fault and the problem slowly goes away as we near next service.
Was serviced 2K ago and problem came back big time / but so did the really cold weather.
Had been running Millers until the problem occured and...
I should have been clearer :) its the 140 so no DPF.
I notice it generally at high speed - 4th/5th at 3000ish RPM.
All of you with TDIs will know what sort of speeds I am talking about - and this is part of the reason its proving diffuclt to troubleshoot.
Its been on Bosch diagnostics...
Hi Guys,
Posted about the above problem I was having quite a while ago and thought it was now okay but the issue has come back.
Issue is - motorway speeds - power down to overtake, car drops a gear to 5th (its DSG) and as revs increase towards 3K the car feels hesitant. power seems to be...
Update
Well... car has been to a specialist auto diesel company (City Auto Diesel's in Plymouth) recently and a faulty fuel temperature sensor was diagnosed.
£15 from Seat and fitted today my problem seems to have dissapeared.
Car was showing no faults on diagnostics - but whilst loking...
Sorry to bring back up an old thread of mine, but have just had the car serviced again and the problem has come back 10 times worse than it was before.
In the last 10K have had MAF changed and problem almost went away between that and yesterday's service. Its back now though! - really lumpy...
Thanks to everyone who replied... much to my disbelief it was actually the cold causing the problem. It certainly didn't feel like it was but it started working later on during the day.
Thinking back I suspect washing the car the previous day didn't help matters as its -3 out there again now...
