Seems like the previous owner bought a space saver as a back up to the gel/compressor.
Gel/compressor, jack, wheel brace, etc have one big polystyrene holder & never came with a space saver.
If you want to use the space saver try to get hold of a Mk5 Golf 16" jack, wheel brace holder.

The beam has a default setting in VCDS.
Makes no difference what you do manually alone, it will always revert back to the default.
You will need to go to into VCDS, select the xenon range, manually adjust & store the setting in VCDS.
The Scandanavians made it law to have dipped beam & tail lights on all the time due to the long winter conditions they have.
The EU law for DRL's is to reduce head-on accidents involving pedestrians & cyclists, hence the DRL's are only on the front.
The wiring for the shutter uses the main beam feed inside the headlight.
So one wire goes to the positive & one wire goes to earth. When you switch on the main beam it will activate the shutter.
The rest is just like a normal HID kit that uses the dipped beam feed.
Lovely pics!
Glad I put the Vred Snowtrac 3's on the Mondy!
First experience of the Snowtracs & they haven't let me down.
Have Wintrac Extremes on the Leon & they're equally as good.
I used a strip of butyl rubber sealant bought off ebay. Scraped off the OEM silicone sealant & layed the rubber sealant in the channel where the lens sits.
