Yeah, I thought it would be a replacement engine. The thing is they are around £500 secondhand then adding in fitting etc is there a point? Whats the car worth? £2k? Spending a grand getting it repaired seems pointless if I can get a bit for it spares or repair. Dunno really.
Looks like it...
Right, had some bad luck with my 2005 Ibiza Sport 85!
Coming down the motorway the oil pressure light came on, by the time I managed to get out of the fast lane and onto the shoulder the engine had locked up. Its getting towed to the garage today (I had it recovered to my house stupidly!) to...
Ive had 18s for four years. No scrub, no problems. Im not exactly low though. (45mm down)
They really arent a problem. Getting very low is pretty impossible though. 60mm is possible with a quick trim of the front bumper mount inside the arch but it depends on what you want to do.
I...
Really? My car is only 45mm down and my driveshafts foul the ARB quite a bit. Puma or adjustable droplinks would be better surely, especially on coilovers?
Its 55KW PHILospher not bhp. Mine is a BKY engine but still comes up as a 85. Seat registered some of the 75bhp (55kw) models as Sport 85s. Its unfortunate but insurance companies can only go off the V5. Its not any difference really anyway.
Congrats! I have a 3 year old and a 10 month old and have no problem fitting all their stuff in my 3 door sport. Need to get a bit inventive packing a large shop with the pushchair but its not too bad. Still wanna get a Leon though!
Could be something sinister but might be something simple. Mine was doing something similar and turned out to be a earth wire breaking down. Was fairly intermittant but once a day like you said. Any other electrical gremlins?
Always best to check the cheap stuff first! :)
Just put £20 and got 160 miles with missus, two kids and boot full of stuff from 1.4 sport. On the return journey with just me 160 miles took £30 but I was a bit quicker on the way back ;)
I cant help with somewhere cheap apart from to say that all I did was to buy a length of exhaust the same diameter and get a local welder to cut out my silencer and weld in the replacement. cost £50 and is still going strong two years later.
The other thing is I would leave the rear silencer...
I think I turned the engine on, turned the trip reset switch to the left for 5 seconds, turned the ignition off while still holding the switch to the left then turned the igniton on and kept the swtich turned for another 10 seconds.
Of course the easiest way would be to use the forum search...
