Two days ago, my LCR's OE factory-fit manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor died, which caused the car to go into a type of 'limp home mode' - ie, the engine wouldn't rev beyond 2,000rpm. Allegedly, a MAP sensor's demise is par for the course once a car gets to a 'certain age', in other words...

Last used my LCR on Sunday, all was fine. Started it this morning, all fine. Pulled away and all feels normal/revs sweetly until it hits 2000rpm, then it 'lurches'/feels 'strangled' and won't rev any higher :confused: No warning lights/EML. All lights go out when ignition is fired...

A Shell station recently opened in my area, so I've swapped from Tesco's 99 to V-Power Nitro. Have now run 3 tanks' worth. With Nitro, my LCR now starts quicker, with barely one turn of the key, and low-rev throttle response seems a wee bit sharper. But compared to 99, mid-range and top-end...

Had some diagnostic work done on my LCR. The EGT (exhaust gas temperature) sensor registers 400°C when the engine idles (and its temp is 90°C). Anyone know if 400°C is normal/correct? Ta :)

My LCR has no engine-related running problems to speak of, but when giving it full beans - eg, from 2,500 to 5,700rpm in 3rd or 4th - its 1.8T felt slightly 'lumpy' as it revved and there was a definite sense of 'steps'/stages as the power kicked-in and increased - and low-rev throttle response...

Anyone know if when an LCR engine's just been started during cold weather and, therefore, the engine is still stone cold - should both of the radiator fans be spinning at full beans? :confused: Ta :)
