I went from turanza t001 on the front of mine to assy 5. Definitely better on road noise. Even my wife noticed and she doesn't notice anything on cars. It was instantly better on aquaplaning but to be fair it wasn't a fair test as they were brand new compared to worn Bridgestone but still pretty...
For some reason I thought that VW 2.0 tsi engines had adopted the cylinder deactivation like the higher powered 1.4 and 1.5. having done a bit more reading on reviews I haven't seen this mentioned when previously I thought I had. I think I must have got myself confused. Lol
I know some of them...
I've been using STP 5in1 in mine. After I'd used some cheaper fuel I found my mpg going the wrong side of 50 on my usual runs. After using that it's been back up to the usual standard. Put it this way my mpg went down roughly 5mpg. Afterwards it's been great again. I put it in twice a year.
When it comes to timing belt time unfortunately he is not willing to touch those anymore. He's done them in the past for me but with modern cars he's not so willing. He's only a few years from retiring so doesn't want any hassle I suppose. I will be looking at VAG specialists when that time...
Turns out it was the water pump as suggested. My mechanic took the car today and found that was the issue. He has got hold of another one and hopefully I will have the car back tomorrow.
No idea on how much a water pump for a 2017 1.4 tsi act 150 is?
How does the bluespark tuning box compare with a JB4? I realise the JB4 tend to have much more to them than most tuning boxes with the ability to read much more of what's going on. Just wondered if bluespark was similar. I'd generally prefer a custom rolling road map but at least if you go Revo...

I haven't driven a MK4 yet but having sat in one I wasn't impressed by the interior.
In many respects the quality was fairly similar to touch and feel but the plastics around the centre console where you have the automatic lever/knob felt so cheap. It felt no better than some of my son's cheap...
From what I have seen they can't just plug it in to the odb port to remap. They have to take out the ECU and put it on a bench and do it that way. Although I have the sweet 1.4 150 in my Leon, I'd be interested to see if this does fix the issue. I'd be interested in the 1.5 150 if a map can fix...
Well it hadn't gone down overnight when I checked earlier. it only seems to go down when I'm driving. So I don't know if that has any bearing on what the issue is. i have it booked in with a mechanic that has done odd jobs and regular servicing for years to look at it. I let him know about the...
Fair enough. I'm pretty sure I have a leak. The coolant was lower than it should be and even lower when I went to get some coolant earlier. Now having driven to work again the coolant is too low again. Not quite low enough to set off the warning but still to low. I will top up again before going...
Hi all had this flash up a few minutes ago on my way into work.
Why does it say check manual. Could this mean something else other than my coolant is low?
Hi Caledonian, a bit off topic but I test drove a civic 1.5 turbo CVT sport plus (gen 10) 18 plate a while back and found the road noise was quite loud compared to my 17 plate Leon and even my Mrs 63 plate Ibiza. Not sure if it was the primacy 3 tyres or just the car. I'm assuming you're civic...
If you can find them at a good price go with Goodyear asymmetric 5. At that size I have found them at £75 per tyre fitted. Generally speaking they perform similarly to both continental PC6 and Michelin PS4. They are also rated well for mileage equivalent to Michelin which tend to be leaders when...
If you can do a 2 hour drive then p torque in Wolverhampton have been well recommended over the years. They have generic maps they have developed themselves and also do rolling road custom remaps.

I've seen Celtic tuning advertised but not actually seen anyone that used them. They are certainly an option given that you have used them before. Again most people worry about the clutch and gearbox when these are mapped. I personally think if you get a map done you need to be prepared that the...
