OLi slid off wat Clearways while going round a Div 2 car (race rusty) - no dammage to car but it took 3 hrs to remove all the underbody to get the gravel out! leson learned - do not go in the gravel!
  2. SCC Confirmed Entries

Tom has clearly decided to concentrate on the Spanish series as the first couple of rounds clash so he had to choose - which is interesting as, although it is a lot cheaper and the tech regs are far looser, the prize is a lot less a well; maybe he didn't fancy the opposition in the UK? As for...

I have also noticed on another forum that Stef's dad is promising some news on Monday, so maybe Stef is coming back as well to join the SCC party - could actually turn out to be an ultra competitve year with Tom Boardman, Oli Wilkinson Stefan Hodgets, Carl Breeze and maybe one or two of the...

    outsider is correct
  5. seat leon 07 race car

Walace, that'a all cool then. I wasn't suggesting that people were ganging up on the young fella but he did say that he needed to go and see a britcar race again as it has been some time since he's been and he is a genuine fan, that's all. as for the driver - I did hear another name...
  6. seat leon 07 race car

Guys, racing daddy here (long time since I was called daddy!) the reason why outsider hasn't named the driver he thinks it is is because he's just a fan who heard a rumour; how do I know? 'because he contacted me before he posted (we have exchanged views a lot over the past few years on...
  7. seat leon 07 race car

Outrageous, I know. and to make it worse, most people actually like him as well. Wasn't like that in my day!
  8. seat leon 07 race car

interesting debate about the relative merits of britcar and the SCC and 'top flight drivers' vs size of wallet. I happen to know the driver in line for the car and he is very well known for the fact that he doesn't have a fat wallet and has somehow made it on (dare I say it) talent alone.
  9. Plato to race new Leon for SEAT in the 2006

zboyd - I just thought that your post made it sound like Seat had 'rejected' the idea which is not what I had heard, that's all. The fact is that Seat do appear to have a couple of cars available to the right buyer at the right price - but I would also expect that they will not want to pass...
  10. Plato to race new Leon for SEAT in the 2006

Tom was not refused - his dada decided they couldn't quite make the budget to do BTCC properly - and at Tom's age he doesn't want to be just another privateer making up the numbers to enjoy himself
  11. Plato to race new Leon for SEAT in the 2006

If Darren will share the drive with Thompson, and if, as MN suggested, neither can do Thruxton, who will?
  12. Plato to race new Leon for SEAT in the 2006

Nice to see that Mr Dennis takes time to read the thread
  13. Plato to race new Leon for SEAT in the 2006

I didn't spot the btcc.net post - ant1988 seems to be fairly exclusive to that forum (unless he posts elsewhere under a different name). Be that as it may, this rumour appears to have legs and while I think Darren is a fine driver I am personally disapointed.
  14. Plato to race new Leon for SEAT in the 2006

I saw that as well, but the Darren Turner post was by someone called btracer while the shoot out post came from someone else called outsider (or at least I presume it was someone else)
  15. Plato to race new Leon for SEAT in the 2006

looks to me like somwonw let the cat out of the bag.....
  16. 2006 Sponsorship...

Former SCC racer Oli Wilkinson ran a similar scheme to fund his Clio campaign in 2002 under the 'sponsormyracingcar.com' banner with some success, or so I believe
