Couldn't find a thread on this. I just watched the Grand Tour from a couple of weeks ago and in the talking bit James May specifically picked on the Leon Cupra 280 as having been developed on the Nurburgring and stated that it was "rubbish".
Does anybody know what his beef is with it? Seems...
How much to fill the tank approx? How big is the tank?
Interested as I've been considering an ST Cupra to replace a 2.2 TDCi Mondeo, but I know I'll take an MPG hit, just need to know how much. I get 600 - 650 miles to an £85 tank (70 litres) of diesel at the moment.
Hi folks
I’ve contacted my local SEAT dealer (Solihull) to ask for a test drive of a Leon ST Cupra this weekend, but got the response back that they don’t have a demo car and also can’t see many available in the ordering network up and down the country at the moment.
Is this normal? How...
Yes I know it’s not essential, I just consider it to be part of the “finish” on a car these days. Ie, if a manufacturer wants to go that little tiny bit further to match the competition then this is one of the ways they could do it.
It really is nice to just walk up to a locked car, open it...
Hi guys
So, I’m researching the details of the new Leon Cupra 280. One thing that isn’t mentioned in the brochure and which I can’t see any evidence of in any photos is keyless entry and push-button start??? Do SEAT not offer these options? It seems quite an omission on a £30k...
...but I haven't been on here for a very long time! :ban:
May as well say hello as a newbie seeing as most current active members won't remember me. Hopefully Syphon and ZBOYD do ;)
Anyway, I'm an ex-SEAT owner who is considering a return to the fold with the release of the Mk3 Cupra 280...
I went to my local SEAT dealer on Sunday to look at the new Cupra and I have to say I wouldn't buy one :( It certainly doesn't look mean enough. It was sat next to a Reference Sport with the Aero bodykit and 18" BBS alloys which looked soooo much better.
Regardless, I sat in the car and just...
A new (fast) car for your birthday? What could be better? :D
...(okay, Jessica Alba lying naked on your bed when you walk in from work would be better, but we're talking real life here right...?) ;)
Nah you're right Dale, I didn't get bad service, but it wasn't awe inspiring either. I had my fair share of ignored phone calls and such like and the odd dispute over whether things were covered by warranty or not.
I haven't changed my tune Dale :p Just reacting to what has been said on this thread. They were rubbish when I used them, but it sounds like they're better now.
Blimey, Droitwich must have really cleaned up their act because they used to get ripped apart on these boards. They were crap when I had my LCR from them and the service generally was always lacking. Thumbs up to them if they've improved! :)
That entrance way is stupid though, always got my...
I think it's fair to say the S3 will be a much better second hand purchase than it will a new purchase! I don't mind spending money on cars, but I think spending £30k on a hatchback is verging on insanity.
Obviously I've not driven or even seen the S3 in the flesh and I don't doubt it's a good...
I never knew this stuff existed! I think I'll get some for the Mondy ST TDCi. I usually get around 530 miles to a £50 tank of derv when doing motorway driving so it will be interesting.
Don't you guys tend to find that people get a bit annoyed with you at the pumps when you stand there...
Interesting post this ;) :D
No, but seriously if I could only get a job where I don't have to drive miles and miles (and therefore have to exist in a diesel Mondeo) I would be prepared to try owning a Scooby for a while to see what all the fuss is about. I've never driven a powerful 4WD car...
The day I changed my order for a Focus ST to a used Mondeo ST TDCi I felt a whole load better. I had been worrying about the insurance/petrol costs and thinking "do I really need it?" for ages and having sold the LCR a few months previous I had got used to having the extra cash.
Actually I wasn't too sorry to see my LCR go at the time, I was looking forward to cheaper fuel bills and the LCR had lost it's magic a bit for me when I bought the Elise. In any case the Mondeo handles better than the LCR did (Ford chassis are great!), but it's more of an executive car to be...
As someone who took exactly the same route in terms of a car swap how are you finding the ST TDCi?
I cleaned mine yesterday for the first time in two months! I just can't get enthusiastic about it like I could with the LCR, it's very much more a tool than a luxury for me, but a...
