    The Wait is Over

Picked up the Cupra 300 today, first impression, I love it! I expected it to drive much the same as the 280 but in reality it is quite different. The 300 feels much more refined somehow. I really wanted another red Cupra but as seat didn't do solid red anymore I went for blue. I am pleased...

    Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3

Finally managed to get hold of four Asymmetric 3's, apparently there is a shortage of them in the UK. It has taken two weeks for my tyre fitter to source the tyres, he got the last three available in the UK last week but had to have the fourth shipped over from Holland. I had them fitted today...

    Tyre Pressure Monitor

I have read a few threads on here that are critical of the tyre pressure monitor that uses the ABS sensors, that is fitted to the Leon. Well last night on a narrow country road I encountered a Range Rover coming in the opposite direction. Being a Range Rover he obviously wanted (and needed) all...

    Insurance

I'm a little bit disappointed tonight, the insurance is due on my Cupra soon and I have spent the evening getting quotes. Last year it cost £190, this year £230. A 20% rise in premium for what? No accidents, no claims, no change in circumstance so why the increase....... Not happy

    Alloy Wheel Repair

Below is a picture of the repair I have just done to one of my alloys, stupidly I forgot to get a picture before I started. I had clipped a kerb with the wheel and damaged about three inches of the rim. It wasn't too deep but had gone through the lacquer and into the aluminium. I started off...

    Fuse Box

Is there a way of releasing the glovebox to let you access the fuses or is it a case of dismantling it and removing it completely?

    Help with colour choice

Need a little help here to decide on my colour options! I have a set of Audi alloys to put some winter tyres on but I didn't want the Audi logo on the centre caps, so I de-badged them and painted them as per the original colour. I couldn't help but feel they didn't look right, so I painted...

    The Love's of my lLife

Gave the Cupra a clean today, so thought I get a picture. And as it was a nice afternoon I took the other love of my life for a spin, when I got back, I thought I'd have a picture of the two of them together. Happy Days...........:p

    Bye Bye Beeza

Said farewell to the FR yesterday, only had it for 14 months but an excellent car and that 1.2 engine is a gem. Here it is parked up at the dealers waiting to be cleaned. I don't think I am going to miss the Ibiza much though, as this has replaced it! Happy days :p

    Bye Bye Ibiza

I've had the FR (picture below) for eleven months. In that time I have had no issues with the car at all. It has the 1.2 Tsi engine which is a fantastic unit and basically has done everything I have asked of it. I had every intention of keeping it three years...........BUT I made the...

    Test Drive, Eye Opener

I test drove the new Cupra 280 today, what can I say......WOW and yes I am going to buy one! But I had set my mind on a manual model, I've never seen the appeal of the DSG gearbox before but that said I had never tried one either. The car I drove today though, had a DSG gearbox fitted and I...

    The New Arrival

Picked up my new Ibiza FR 1.2 Tsi this morning and so far I would say it has exceeded my expectations. That little 1.2 engine is a delight, I had expected with the reduction in torque from the 1.6 diesel I would need to use the gears a bit more but not so. It is a pleasure to drive on the back...

    A Happy Relationship

All to often people use forums like this to seek advice about a problem or have a whinge about issues with their car, well not today! Me and my 2010 Ibiza Sport 1.6 CR Tdi are about to part company after three years and 41,000 miles and I can happily report it has not suffered a single fault in...

    Quick Question - Carpets

Just a quick one for anyone who has taken delivery of a 2013 model. Are the over carpets still standard (they were on my 2010 model) or do I need to order them separately? Thanks in advance :)

    Good News.....

Just had a phone call from the dealer, my new FR is on a ship somewhere in the North Sea. It is expected to be at the docks at Newcastle on Sunday and I should be able to collect it by the end of next week. That will be four weeks earlier than expected.............. :)

    Bye Bye Ibiza

My 1.6 tdi Mk5 Ibiza Sport will be three years old in three weeks time, so it's probably a good time to look at changing it. The Ibiza will be a hard act to follow, I have owned twelve brand new cars over the years and this is the first one not to have a single fault. Three years and 40,000...

    Help please! What is it?

A bit of a puzzle for you people this morning, I have just removed the NSF wheel from my 1.6TDI Mk5 and noticed this (see the part circled red in the photo) My question is what is it and where has it come out of, as I assume it shouldn't be dangling free and rubbing on the drive...
