I know mate. Would have been good. Still, this bunch will look after you and I am still going to hang around :) Want to visit AMD wih the Passat at somepoint :D
The company I used was called Scantec GB - the German Car Specialists.
The invoice names the replaced part as a Convenience Module - part number: 1C0 959 799 F
The cost of the part was £219.22 + labour & VAT = £322.21
Im not sure if the name of the part is an official title or just a...
Its sounds like the problem I had, although it would let me get into the car before locking itself :p
I would start the engine the doors would lock and the alarm would arm itself, after about 10 seconds of driving the alarm would sound. Sound about right?
Took it to a VW garage, they had...
:) Ha ok, sorry dude :)
I just found this that could be of help.

There seems to be 3 possible causes with 3 solutions. I hope one of them works for you.
Welcome by the way
Yeah definitely! Initially it was just the bonnet and roof and I thought a quick respray on just those sections would contain it.
But its spreading like some kind of yellow car disease :D
Does anyone know if this problem can be solved without the cost of a full respray?
White lines on the paint work is the start of the lacquer peeling off!
Mine started just after all that snow we had at the start of the year, now I have large patches where the lacquer has come away
Its effected my bonnet, roof & wings so far. A respray is on the cards :cry::cry:
...with the spare key?
Apologies if this is a dumb question but is this possible?
The spare is standard with no remote capabilities. The car was de-locked when I bought it and I had a thought the other day:
What if I lost the remote key, how would I get into the car?
The only option...
I think that may be the case mate.
The light came back on the other day and the same garage has just told me
that the code it has thrown up is P0674, which I can't find on the VAG code list!
Anyone know of a decent VAG specialist in the Milton Keynes area?
The code the garage gave me is P0268.
Looking on the code sticky it relates to this: Cyl.3 Injector Circuit High Input/Short to B+
Is this correct?
Why didn't the garages machine come up with the same explanation?
Sorry if these are obvious questions, this is way over my head! :D
Has anyone come across an error code that points to the shift solenoid valve?
My Leon TDI went into the garage last week to fix the coolant temp sensor, after the Engine Management light came on.
Today on the way to work it pops back on and the garage has said that the error code is now...
After much deliberation I chose the F1 Assers.
Had them fitted on Friday afternoon for £115 each fully fitted and balanced.
I though this was a great price as other garages were quoting in excess of £140 each.
I really tried to get the Vredesteins but there seems to be a big shortage!
Anyway...
I agree and like I said before, I want tyres that have great grip in the dry & wet but also will wear slowly as I commute 250 miles a week.
I know the poll isn't law lol :) but it gives a good insight into peoples experiences.
I really appreciate all comments
