S3 upper front strut brace Q:

Ok chaps just got mine today, how much movement do you think there is in the turrets before fitting the brace( 1,2mm) I ask this because it's a none adjustable brace so every bolt and hole need to be drilled dead on and of correct diameter.

    What mileage/age Cupra for £3.5k?

But he isn't buying a modified car? I didn't buy a modified car? Therefore valuations are relevant. I'm not arguing I just disagree. It's a forum mate... not everyone is going to agree. Like I said I give up.

    What mileage/age Cupra for £3.5k?

Clearly a third time might sink in, ITS A STALEMATE. I'm FULLY aware that people are going to disagree. That's WHY I said ITS A STALEMATE. By your rule of thumb mileage has little meaning in the grand scheme of things, obviously something the car Market disagrees with as it is 1 of the...

    What mileage/age Cupra for £3.5k?

No it's just that this topic is a stalemate, to a certain degree you must care about mileage, if you truly didn't then why not by a cupra that's done 103k instead of 69k and save yourself some money.

    What mileage/age Cupra for £3.5k?

I had a funny feeling I get a reply like that lol, i understand that your own personal car is fine however in general cars of a higher mileage are prone to faults etc. I'm sure high mileage cars built by vag are ok it's just that if a turbo goes then so does the money in the piggy bank...

    What mileage/age Cupra for £3.5k?

Sounds like I got a good deal, I wouldn't go to high a mileage as turbo's and cambelts come into the replacement bracket

    What mileage/age Cupra for £3.5k?

I think so, personal taste I suppose, have a flick through autotrader and the difference is easy to see. Apart from looks and White speed dials I think the cars are the same mechanically. I wanted an LCR but for the sake of a quick map by Jabba it runs the same power roughly

    What mileage/age Cupra for £3.5k?

Ye mine is a pre facelift 51 LC picked up for 3k 52k miles, I did this as facelifts were going for around 6k. My plan was to spend 1.5k on bumpers, paint, alloys and keep the rest for mods and stuff. Here I am all done with money in my pocket. Turns out I saved myself 1k or so

It feels none existant anyway, probably because it goes through the notch in even less travel if that makes sense

    Just fitted forge quickshift :)

Ye sheff boy, mine is set at 50% . when u feel that notch that's where gear is engaged now. Gives you a clue as to how short the throw is when you next take yours for a spin

There is a vag specialist close to me so I order my parts through him, good mech, hard to come by these days. Had my car all day trying to find out why I was getting crunch sometimes and asked him to check my alignment and stuff before I fitted the quickshift. He said it could be the selector ...

    Just fitted forge quickshift :)

Ye slightly dani , hasn't done alot to sort it however I have found out that gear crunch can be caused by the selector( the part you need to be careful of when removing the old linkage) any further damage will cost you hundreds. That's why I used the puller.

I bought both units, the shorter throw and shorter side to side, both were approx 65 from forge. As the lady said to me on the phone just the shorter throw is needed, still I bought both anyway, I have both units set to half reduction and it feels well placed in all gears. Very pleased, you...

    Just fitted forge quickshift :)

What a difference, this is a must mod. Car feels enjoyable to drive instead of an effort. If anyone is planning on fitting a quickshift kit I would advise buying a claw puller as it's hard to seperated the linkage from the gearbox.
