Are manual clutches that bad on the cupra? My FR184 delivers the same torque (albeit for less of the rev range) and the manual gearbox and clutch has been fine for 70000 miles (and still going fine). Do they use a chocolate clutch in the cupra or is it the same unit?

I have a vague recollection of my servicing centre telling me they put the same oil in whether you're on the long service or the short service interval.

is it the dry clutch or is it a wet one? I heard that the dry clutch cannot cope with much torque so assumed it is a wet one, but can't find any info on it.

I got the problem sorted today. The local seat dealer reflashed the ecu with the latest version of the software and the epc light and fault code has gone, and hasn't returned. If I want the power back, I need to send the bluefin off to supachips HQ to have the unit wiped and new firmware...

is there a separate bit of software on the eeprom which gets re-written then? Am I still able to run the supachips map once fixed, or will this re-install the old problem?

to install the original map and tell them what happened. I'm waiting for a response Monday when they get my email.

bluefin stage 1 goosed my original clutch. Not sure how it had been driven previously since it was second hand. I got the sachs uprated clutch which is good for upto 480 Nm.

But since the esp light is constantly lit, I won't know if my ABS subsequently fails as it uses the same light to warn you of a fault. This was the argument my garage gave me when they told me it was an MOT fail. Having said that, once it is fixed I will be mostly driving with the esp switched...

Hi, Got the same fault on mine. This is apparently an MOT fail, since you wouldn't be aware of an ABS failure since the light is already on. Seat won't do a goodwill on mine since I don't have FSH with Seat. Made me wonder whether getting VOSA involved would force Seat to sort this...
