Wondered where you had been. Last time I saw you, your car was leaving the Pod on the back of a low loader with a fecked clutch I seem to remember.
Nursing mine through to part-ex in October so don't need any big bills, and a lack of uprated HPFP is not helping the stage 2+ map so I'm having to...
Hope all sorts itself out Rob, loved reading about your car and it's developments on here, so fingers crossed for the future mate and that things settle down for you.
Due to the heat produced by the bulbs I'm sure the manufacturers fit breather pipes at the headlamp units as the temperature differential between the bulb and ambient air temps are so great that the condensation that forms inside the headlamp unit would have nowhere to go once it cools down. It...
TBH, I think with modern cars as long as you respect and abide by the warm up process and give the clutch and brakes a few miles to bed in, you can gradually build up the rpm during the first 500 miles. There's a distinct difference between going fast and abusing it badly!
There should be a...
When I moved from NA engine VW's (Mk2Golf GTi with 2.0 16v conversion running close to 160hp and a Lupo GTi running around 140bhp), and purchased my first brand spanking new LCR with 225 horses, because of the weight gain the car felt quite limp and I was surprised despite the 60hp hike from...
One word of caution I'd add to these kinds of thread are that whilst manufacturing tolerances are MUCH better than they used to be, no 2 cars are going to put down like for like figures, even with the same engine type as:
1) Each car may be adapted to it's own daily drive style
2) Engines are...
I had some Weitec Ultra GT suspension on a Mk2 Golf GTi many years ago and they were WAY more compliant than anything that I've owned that has rolled out of any VAG factory.
Yes they're firm, but settle nicely in about 1000 miles, and they rode poor roads and speed humps quite well.
Are...
No offense, but I thought internet forums were places for open discussion. Frankly I couldn't give a rats arse what people fit to their cars. The only thing that concerns me is when people fit some of this cheap tat to their cars and do it themselves they may be the car behind me on a wet...
Bloody hell, do you guys do any work ;-)
Glad you're enjoying it. Sounds like the standard SEAT suspension is a real jewel in the crown of the ownership experience.
Due to cost cutting and the recession leccy lumbar has been descoped from our new car along with adaptive lights , so to...
A Toyota Prius came 5th FFS. I'd rather burn in the fires of hell for eternity than spend a single second behind the wheel of such a tedious wedge of bullsh1t.
But JD isnt just about a car, it's about dealers (most of which in the VAG spectrum are at best so-so), and then there are the type...
Have you taken it to a specialist VAG centre for them to mull it over before you part with it.
If all they did was service it they can't have fecked it up that bad.
New Audi A6 3.0TDi claims 0-60mph in 5.4seconds and 308bhp (latest lauch version).
For an OEM car that's just fookin' immense. Imagine it mapped. Bonkers.
Expect to pay £40k new, but in 2-3 years they'll be about for mid £10k's.
I see the appeal, I really do, I just love having an engine which can rev. The diesel makes sense on almost every level, but having spent some time in an Audi A3 TDi170 recently I just can't warm to the way it drives. Plus I love the sound of the petrol with a decatted TBE, but 5 cylinders would...
I get 29mpg with the wind behind me at 60mph. Around town taking it easy I get 18mpg.
Two days in Germany at the Ring last year (only 3 laps on the ring, the rest on autobahn), my combined mpg was 15 for the 2 days (using 100RON Shell Optimax).
You almost have to give up any aspirations...
Hi mate; good to be back albeit in smaller visits.
Bonkers money when specced up (£44k with the options we wanted - £14k more than the S3 with an 8% discount and same options). S3 was cheaper then Rocco and Golf R's too, so made no sense to stray.
As for RS3, I've never been particularly...
As a comparison with an Audi, whilst my RS owning mate and I agree the Audi has a better interior design, the actual build quality is pretty close. At least his coil packs, clutches and high pressure fuel pump doesn't give up every 2 years!
I'm inclined to agree I sat in a Honda CR-V the other day and the interior was cack. I respect Honda's reliability, but I've never seen them as a prestige brand. The Ford may be a bit lairy, but at least it has some character. Most other new hyper hatches as dull as sh1t for the money.
