    What's every 1.2er's top speed?

I know its a bit like asking how fast is wind erosion but I only want to ask since I can't seem to pinpoint whether my lack of performance (even more so than before!) is down to age/larger wheels/other factors. Mines a 2002 1.2 (64bhp) with a K&N cone and 16 inch FR wheels and has been pretty...

1.2 K&N induction kit fitting problem...hole in manifold? help!

So does this mean the air needs to be filtered? I'm confused because other people who have fitted the induction kit haven't seemed to fit anything to it

1.2 K&N induction kit fitting problem...hole in manifold? help!

looks like it, was just curious why Seat had bothered to mate it with the airbox, was just assuming the air needed to be filtered. May just put a bit of thin mesh over it to keep dirt out

1.2 K&N induction kit fitting problem...hole in manifold? help!

Should also mention that this airhole pipe goes directly into the airbox when its attached, although it has a small slit out of the side so it doesn't seem to be an airtight seal?

1.2 K&N induction kit fitting problem...hole in manifold? help!

Hi there, Yesterday I ordered a 57i K&N cone filter kit to fit into my 2002 1.2, seemed like a fairly simple job reading the instructions, however... When you take the engine cover off there is a large air hole exposed from the exhaust manifold ( the bit at the front top of the engine with...

    Cupra Bushes

Longevity isn't the only bonus, anyone who has the solid bushes would agree that steering feel does improve noticeably, and initial turn-in improves a bit. Ride is a tiny bit sharper, but only over bigger bumps. Do it!

    Ibiza 1.2 Timing Belt Intervals

To add to this, the chains are meant to be a fairly lifetime part: however, earlier models had a lousy tensioner and pulley fitted, and often went under 50k You might be ok as yours is 2004 (when they modified the part), but check the service history for chain tensioner guide replacement, and...

    Common Mk4 Problems

Have had same problem as above on my early 1.2, ignored my emissions light for ages thinking it was just an O2 sensor, turned out to be one of the lambdas. This threw the fuel/air mix out, cutting power with rough running, and dumping unburnt fuel into the cat, completely killing it. In...

    Many mk4 problems

Can't help with the other problems, but get the engine light off ASAP, mine was one of the lambdas, threw off the fuel/air mix, which over a few months completely smashed up the platinum lining in the cat and manifold ( £580). Telltale signs of this are a burning smell, bit like a clutch...

    Ibiza FR Personal Best MPG

To put a different spin on it.. From my last fill up in my 1.2 I put in £10 and got 44 miles. ordinary driving, light town work :) My car has turned into an "if it ain't broke, it probably will be tomorrow" heap in around 10000 miles. Think it's the lambda sensor that's causing it...

    Hubcentric spacers, new bolts?

Really? i hope not, i don't wanna go down the road of stiffening anything, don't have the money currently and if i do i would have to go all the way :/

    Hubcentric spacers, new bolts?

Great, thanks, it's a slight solution to the arch problem, i can't go coilies as i'm on the mother's insurance, just doing small things that i wouldn't have to declare until i'm out of uni :) Is there any preference of brand? i can imagine their pretty generic tbh, hardly the most complex...

    Hubcentric spacers, new bolts?

Pretty sure that I will have to but a search didn't help.. Looking for some inexpensive 15-20mm hubcentric spacers for my mk4, just for the rears as the damn spring height makes my 16's look like castors! Does having hubcentrics mean that i don't need new bolts? I'm not certain, otherwise...

    Veyron's 1.2 Ibiza - Update 12/09/2012 - sadly gone

Loving the car mate, same colour, engine and age as mine, i might consider copying some of your ideas, espesh the front bumper :) wish i had the time/money though :/ One thing i have noticed (might just be my eyes) is that your tyre profile looks far too large for the new wheels (in terms of...

1.2 vibration in lower gears, possibly clutch or DMF? help!

Cheers, yeah mine's the three pot, but because they have a special balancer shaft of some sort, others that i've tried are silky smooth at idle, you can barely tell their on! I'm not sure about the flywheel, i just assumed that all Beeza's are dual mass, having read other posts, maybe...

1.2 vibration in lower gears, possibly clutch or DMF? help!

My little Uno Dos has never been the smoothest in slow traffic, it's hard work to stop a grinding vibration if you lift off the clutch too heavily. The cold weather seems to have made things a bit worse, you have to rev it well over 2k when pulling away to stop vibration, and when changing to...

car feels like it's not firing on all cylinders

I had similar symptoms a while back, except mine would not start unless you floor the throttle while igniting. when VAG specialist garage took the car in they told me what i expected: Timing chain is jumping teeth and causing a vacuum. After inspection, the timing chain seemed fine, so they...

    Colour ? Which one ?

My neighbour bought a newish Polo, decided he didn't like the diesel engine and it was back on the garage forcourt 6 days later.. A bit off topic, but just to show you it's nothing to worry about!
