I had this from new on my Mk2 Leon. Turned out the wrong suspension geometry was used out of the factory and caused sawtooth wear on the tyres. New tyres solved the issue but would have come back if I hadn't had the suspension reset. I'd get that checked first before changing tyres otherwise...
