Think this is in the wrong section, seems more applicable for the mk2 Leon section -
The general VAG replacement schedule is every 40k or 5 years, so you are due. I wouldn't risk it, especially if you are going to put more strain in general on things with a stage 2 map.
If you start worrying, just get a few quotes from other places. That way you'll be able to work out if it seems a bit dodgey.
Also just noticed you said "front passenger side door panel" I had presumed earlier you had a 3 door, which would be over two panels.
£150 seems like a good price to me (especially as it's over two panels) :
It cost me £350 to have the nearside rear quarter panel sprayed when I slid in ice and touched a wall (no panel deformation, just paint) - in certain lights I can see very subtle blend marks - but a bit of extra glaze and...
It's dead easy -
remove rear boot trim (mk4 guide)
http://www.seat-ibiza-mk4.co.uk/ibiza_boot_trim_removal.htm
from memory it there are three nuts/bolts that you have to unscrew, and the boot lock mechanism just pops out,
then that mk5 dismantle guide looks right for what I did - except I...
Yeah, I had a quick look - it does have a few cracks I'll get it changed at the specialist when I#m back in Coventry - will only be about £30 tops - and save me the hassle and worry about the tensioner. :)
Phoned up my local dealership who were less than helpful on the actually getting it looked at side of things - however I can confirm that the "v belt" is the axillary belt, alternator, air con and some other bits and bobs run off it.
On the plus side it's started just fine every time today - so...
At my 40k service I was advised that my V-belt would need doing at some point in the not too distant future (it had a few cracks in apparently), that was about 3months ago.
On Monday I heard whining from the engine bay on start-up - after giving it a little bit of throttle it cleared. I...
It's not often that I think that contrasting colour wing mirrors look good, but that looks spot on - nice one :)
really tidy looking mk5.
on another note, is that a mini I spy behind it? :P
So in today's heat I decided the best thing to do was to wash and wax my car... I abandoned ship after the wash and glaze stage owing to have lost probably half my bodyweight in perspiration (Women don't sweat). Thinking 'I'll wax and seal it later'...
I like a challenge:
'You have approximately...
Taaaa :) I was careful about what I chose, and was really pleased with the colours - I'll be on the look out for more outrageous coloured stickers from now on I think. :D
I paid for a professional install (well, I thought it was professional install.. but that is another looooooong story) and they mounted the new speakers in custom cut rings of just 8mm MDF, rather than posh adaptor rings - they aren't difficult to make with a template - as I had to replace one...
I'm running 20mm on the rear, and have been for about 15k now - never had a problem *touches wood* and that includes regular trips between Surrey and Coventry heavily loaded with all my uni stuff.
Sounds like a coincidence.
I'm not running any on the front.
And haven't had to have any bearings...
