what controlls the fan over-run? on a mk3 golf abf, there is a temp sendor on the inlet manifold between runners 2 and 3.
i cant see anything on the seat?
i popped a cupra abf into my mk2 golf. its been running perfectly but i always had 2 sets if wires on the main engine loom with virtually the same connector blocks.
they are both 3 pin black , with 3 wires to each.
dizzy- brown/white black/red blue
spare- blue/white white/brown...
so i changed the crank sensor to a new facet item. same problem occuring.
i have changed and checked everything suggested on every forum , bar the ecu. its been suggested its possbly switching between maps, start up etc.
its back with a vengeance! right so the only options left are the crank sensor and ecu.
its defo an electrical fault.
start the engine from warm or cold and you get the terrible idle and hunting. put your foot down and it'll hunt and kangaroo. like theres no spark or fuel.
turn the ignition...

i simply cant afford the head atm. well i can, but its an outlay and im trying to keep my credit card clean! :)
fully gutted airbox with k&n panel filter. ported tb matched to inlet mani. jetex exhaust.
i was going to get the head worked. but i cant swallow the fact that a good job, with matched manifolds and service costs is going to be close to £700. thats a head with flow bench figures provided...
im thinking now, as the cars running perfectly, getting the engine/ecu mapped.
the lump made 149.5hp and 140lbft on a dyno dynamics machine, which are regarded as the most accurate rollers your gonna get. im happy with that figure for saying its 12 years old
