The heat from the engine, the sun and the day time running light all together can get hot enough to actually singe and melt the end of the day time running light tube turning it black which means you'll need a whole new light as it doesn't let as much light through. It's either that or the tube...
Has anyone had any luck replacing the folding wing mirror motor? I had one replace under warranty a few years back, now at 172,000 miles the motor in the drivers side has gone. Can't seem to find a replacement online.
I'm still enjoying my 2014 Leon despite having it since new and putting 166,000 miles on it (mostly learner driver mileage). I think it's a great car. So I was excited to see the new Leon.
Please don't be offended as I know people can be defensive about their cars as if it was a personal insult...
Looks awful, the styling is far too complicated and fussy, the front bumper is all over the place. What's with the curvy font on an angular car? Mk3 is definitely the best looking Leon, I won't be buying the mk4.
I know of a fellow driving instructor who has had two mk5 Ibiza's with a problematic ignition barrel. On several occasions the barrel would turn freely and has left her stranded. She has had two because the dealer replaced her car due to the fault but she got the same problem with the...
Just thought I'd share this with you, I'm making a three part video for cleaning the intake valves using 3 different methods to see if any or all of them work.
I've made and posted the first 2 videos with plans to make the third video using the walnut blast method soon. The videos include...
In the manual though the click only does anything in Eco. I have the 140ps 1.4 though. Still love the blend of economy and punch from a surprising 250nm at 1,500rpm. 144,000 miles and counting.
I quite like Eco mode in the manual because when you go past the click in the gas pedal I get a sudden satisfying boost which reminds me of the kick down in the old auto supra. Although a little more tame ;)
Hi,
Does anyone know if the 103KW 1.4 TSI CHPA engine has an EGR valve?
I've looked for it everywhere in a workshop manual that I have and it doesn't appear to have one, I thought all engines had egr these days?
I guess they're trying to skimp on research and development for the mapping and leaving it up to the customers to tell them if something is not right. Mapping something for all conditions take a long time and requires you to take the car to all different climates.
My old 1.6 TDI in the Ibiza...
I was told that the leaky cylinder head was a design flaw that affected the earlier CHPA engine. My new head was a revised item. I would image other owners who do more modest miles will find they have the problem once it's out of warranty. My spark plugs were covered in oil, so good bet is to...
