Had a seller refund my timing belt kit claiming it won't fit my pd160. But it's listed to fit the 160 but comes up saying it's fits the 130 and not the 160 for them on a regular check. So they won't send the part out. its the same engine right!??? So annoyed with this.
Problem has come back again after being absent for a week or two. 17664- engine coolant temp sensor (G62) open or short to plus. That's the code it throw up. So is it a new engine coolant sensor I need? It's by the back of the engine, low down to the left of the airbox isn't it? Cheers all
As into change the CTS. looks easy enough to change TBF. Cars not done it for a day now do hoping the egr clean and fuel filter have done the trick. If not I will start with the CTS and work up .
I will check the alternator load wire, heard about that issue. Battery seems fine. Checked voltage. Maybe start by changing that then.... Is it an air box out job?
Cheers mate. Any idea on location for both? Is the temp sensor right at the front just to the right of the oil filter chamber? Looks like it. Don't know if it's at all relevant but leaving work at the lights my fuel needle kept dropping and raising causing the fuel warning light to keep coming...
Do you mean collant temperature sensor? I was thinking that could be the culprit maybe fuel sensor as well ? I will check the wires after work. Fuel pump and filter are definitely ok. Checked last night.
Annoyingly I can't. I can clear them but my vag code reader never shows the codes. It's just forever on the reading code screen. Did it again today after work. Fuel pump sounds like it primes when you put the key in the ignition. Fuel filter is getting fuel, air filter clean, don't think it's...
Hi all, my recently purchased Ibiza Cupra TDI has this fault where randomly it will turn over but not start. Trying to turn it over for too long causes oil, glow plug and EML to come on along with the car beeping at you. Easy start down the intake pipe to the turbo was the only way I got it to...
The nightmare continues! less than 1,500 miles \3 months since the turbo recon and the car has developed a loud screech sound which comes at around 2,000 revs and then goes completely goes. Removing the vac hose to the turbo stops the noise (pinpointing turbo) It sounds like metal on metal from...
Hi all, quick update on this: decided to have the turbo repaired before it went bang. 4 weeks later and £664 it's been repaired by turbo dynamics and refitted. Smoke and noise has gone now. Car peak boosts at 26/27 psi and quickly tails off. Is that ok for a remapped cupra TDI or is that still...
Update: Took the car out and can confirm the following.
Car peak boosts at 29/30 PSI and slowly tails off to now lower than 25 PSI up to the redline - Normal for a remapped cupra tdi?
Car only makes the whine noisy at tickover or going very slowly, it does not make it once on the move or...
Changed the oil today. Due to the noise of the engine while underneath the car I generally couldn't tell if it is coming from the turbo. Noise is pretty loud though when you increase the revs. Fearing the worst now and wondering what is my best and cheapest option if the turbo goes bang?
