AFAIK the Leon didnt come with any type of seat that had an extendable leg support so i think its just the big black plastic surround that goes around the bottom of the seat but i may be wrong :)
Well today i bought a mint set of Black S3 Recaro's from an 02 plate S3. I own a 55 plate Leon last of the MK1's and the seats are completely different!
The Leon has the Guides for the runners welded into the car already and the S3 seats have actual runners on the subframe underneath :|...
Is there anywhere that actually stocks these on the shelf so to say or are they all custom jobs?
I dont want a full one just one that bolts in behind the drivers :)
Thanks.
Sweet! Me just being naive then lol. I always knew things popped up when googled but i just presumed to read the forum in question you had to be a member. Thanks as well for the helping hand haha
Im not actually a member of any Golf forums otherwise i would have. I couldnt see the fronts been any different as you said it uses the same platform as the golf/A3/Leon etc. Id want the rears as well though which is where my problems probably start haha.
Thanks.
To fit MK1 TT seats in the front and back of the Leon?
Seen a baseball stitched set id love but not sure on how easy/difficult any work needed would be :)
Thanks.
Nope i changed the N/S as that was the one making all the racket (I know i went against logic lol).
Anyway an update on the problem is today i took it for alignment and tracking and low and behold the noise has all but gone! Still a faint whir but if i didnt already know about the noise id...
How very strange :/. Well i changed my N/S yesterday and the bearing was shot. Still the same noise though only a little quieter?
Is it possible they both conveniently went the same time!?
Well im thinking that in all honesty mate. I heard somewhere that because the tolerances of the bearings nowadays are so fine that the old play in the wheel trick doesnt always work anymore.
My gearbox is fine no crunching, nice smooth selection etc so ill try the other bearing i think :)
Yes but in effect this then clamps the bearing back together if you like causing the noise to dissapear until straight again? Plus there isn't any play in the wheel when jacked up. I know this method doesnt always work but i had the wheel spinning while jacked up as well (engine running, clutch...
Possible but wouldnt that cause a knocking noise as well? All i get is an annoying whirring :/. Its so sudden though, there's nothing till about 30-35mph then its just there! Highly annoying.
Could it be a rear wheel bearing and the noise is just resonating toward the front?
Yes it does. If you can scan it on VagCom it will tell you the cylinder its affecting as well. This happened to me:

Ok about 7-10 days ago i lowered the car on adjustable coilovers and set the ride height to -60mm. I then purchased some BBS Split wheels off a BMW with H&R adaptors. So all was done properly.
Now about 3-4 days ago the car started making a whirring noise from about 30mph onwards all the way...
