There is a stepped line on the top and bottom of the frame i just used a multi too with a saw attachment to lop them both off needed to cut the clips that sit behind that line a bit too for the screen to sit flush. looks like the 4 fixing points are the only thing holding the screen in so yes...
thinking about adding sound deadening and possible upgrade the the rear speakers i get this odd buzzy noise like a dodgy tweeter at high volumes but not on all tracks at high volumes on the drivers side.
would something like this be a worthy upgrade...
Ok cheers i have not pulled the old one out yet to compare thought someone on here may have done it.
Will the old 6.5" still fit the old frame after its cut ?
I bought an 8" screen anyone know if i can swap it over with the vent housing its already in instead of cutting my existing one ?
Or can i cut the vents the 8" one came in if it does not ?

Car type you can change after, let me know if it works, make a backup of the string you currently have also before changing.
i had the same issue but thermostat housing fixed mine, i used a 538036010 from ebay and just paid garage for labour.
you may need the n82 valve as well it shows the same error, or maybe the plug to the thermostat was not cleaned properly when they replaced it as the old one leaks onto it...
yep i was aware you can` t go directly, but there is a way to do it i found it ages ago. probably not worthwhile though easier just to buy a newer unit.
