What do you think about brakes in the picture? For me the front brakes don't look like FR. Pretty similar to mine (2010 Cupra R) with 19" rims...:confused:
So it didn't show any difference in the noise at all? :censored:
Mine was doing idle much smoother right away, any improvement on yours?
I'm sad for you mate! :(
basic guidelines:
for standard plugs (similar to oem) better stick to 0.8
for iridium plugs you may have a slightly larger gap ~0.9, this is because of different tip geometry (smaller/thinner tip). Thinner tip enables same spark at lower voltage level and with lower amount of energy. When...
The noise was totally same as yours.
Don't know they've been doing wrong, or it is just the plugs what are faulty...
They were approx. 15€ each, so 60€ total... You should find them to be around £10 each.
I hope you get it sorted!
I did use the Denso IK20 Iridium power plugs.
If they changed the plugs at the service then you should check the plugs out first.
btw. I also noticed improvement at the way that car idles. Now it's much smoother.
So after 3 months of breezy winter I finally changed the plugs and now it's been one week since I installed them. I checked the old plugs and saw some wear in them (the gap was bigger than in the new ones also).
Guess what??!!?? The :censored:*ng noise seems to be gone now! It all might have...
Mine (R 2010) is doing the same thing (it does it allways when cold).
Seat dealership took the brakes apart and everything was fine. They contacted factory when I complined about it again. Seat factory told them to get photos of every brake part and thats what they did. Factory did comment...
I'm still having the same problem. (Driving me mad, and really can't enjoy my car like I used to do, so this must get sorted soon...)
Do you have picture of that where the "black mess" was, so I can check if I have something similar?
cheers,
Jone
That was THE answer I was afraid of... It either goes BOOOM after a while OR it just sounds funny and you drive happily ever after... As I'm having the same noise and no help whatsoever.
The most reasonable explanation was about "wastegate flutter" that is not harmful
My Cupra R was at the Stealers because of the brakes making noise. They totally rip them apart and photographed every single piece of them and send the pics to Martorelli factory for analysis. The result was... Everything is correct and normal. The noise was happening only when cold weather, oh...
That's huge relief! I was totally f00ked when I got this after I remapped my car 2 days ago... :D Did several test runs and allways had the "whirring sound" when on 3rd 3500rpm accelerating hard... :censored: so happy now! :funk:
Looks somehow very nice! ... or different :coolthumb
Do you know the place where to cut the old exhaust off? I got the parts needed but I have not
yet started fitting them.
